Why I mention/compare the two is because:
NOTE: I have not read the Secret Window by Stephen King yet, unfortunately.
Which film did you like more? For me in the long run, I preferred Fight Club over Secret Window. Johnny Depp's portrayal of Mort was great, but I found Edward Norton and Brad Pitt's portrayal as the Narrator and Tyler Durden to be even better. Fight Club did a better job at foreshadowing, and the characters are more compelling to me, in a sense.
What I did like in the Secret Window though, was that (very vague spoiler)
Spoiler Showboth movies feature the dissociative mental illness, which serves as the huge plot twists near the end of both films/books.

Spoiler ShowAlso, the main character actually came to contradict with the split-personality, rather than just giving up and letting the split-personality take over.

Spoiler ShowMort got away with what he did, much like the character from the book he was writing, and it showed him crunching on the ear of corn.
