OMG! I was just playing FFX-2 and i got up to the part where Yuna and Shinra talk aboout the energy from the farplane a.k.a life force. I then remembered, somehow, the Shinra coporation out of FF7, do you think they are connected? It could just be me on a sugar high but....i still thinks those two games are connected. Freaky! XD I also heard that as soon as the FF series eds the last game will be one to connect them all, could this be one connection?

The proof is all there....I mean seriously, Shinra talks about harnessing the energy and using it, then in FF7 the Shinra corp uses the life as a weapon. It seems FFX came before FF7...but where do the rest fit in?

Um...those games have nothing to do with each other except that they're both made by Squaresoft, er Square-Enix. They probably just put the name Shinra there so that that character would have a name or to give respect to FF7. At anyrate, the stories have not cojnection whatsoever.

i remember having a conversation about this with someone a while ago. There was this website he brought up about it to...cant remember, i'll edit this when i find it.

I thought the whole thing was stupid. No connection what-so-ever in my opinion. Names of creature, weapons, spells and other things are often transferred between Final Fantasy games. Such include things like Shiva, Flare, -aga spells, etc..

Well, everything is connected to something right, they say in practically every game. Why would they connect all of them? It would be pointless to make a series that didn't connected but, hey, that's just my OPINION and it doesn't matter.

There is no real connection, it was put there so people who have played previous Final Fantasys can get amusement from it.

It's like saying FF8, FF7, and FF9 are connected because at the end, Zidane says: "No Cloud or Squall shall hinder us!" or when Zidane looks at Cloud's sword in a shop and says, "I knew a guy with spiky hair who had a sword like this"

It's not because they're connected, they just use references to other FF games. Like Flare, Mythril, Holy, chocobos, cactaurs. ect.

They did stuff like this in Parasite Eve as well...
With a giant picture of a chocoboon the museum in the first one and referances to fighting "giant cacti" in the second game...as well as a gunblade as a weapon:p

alright- all ff games are connected in the way that they all have similarities

-main character is some sort of "chosen one"
-chocobos
-someone named cid (most of the time)
-someone named Shinra (only x-2 and vii)
-intense plot revolving around religion and government

they're all similar--

and whats this about a game to connect them all?? that'd be sweet

These are called cross-overs. Cross-overs can be either internal or external. Your example is an internal. An external example would be that the name "Freya" is the name of a goddess in Norse Mythology.

Not to mention biggs and wedge final fantasy viii.

But the last game to connect them all.... ya... not gonna happen.

You are mistaken. That was "Final Fantasy Tactics" (which has little to do with the FF series), or Squaresoft's other incredibly awesome RPG, "Xenogears".

Each Final Fantasy's plot makes reference to religion and some beliefs, but it's definitely not that vital to the story. However, religion and government were most definitely the focus in FFTactics and Xenogears.

i know a number of people who believe in this connection and how the moonflow became Qu's marsh for example, but seriously i think its not true. The geography seems kinda off and crossovers and references seems to just be things to keep the fans enlightened. Still a link would bring many theroies out.
