In KH3 Sora barely survives the prophecy that "light will expire", but he is able to cling on to life thanks to Kairi believing he could. He ends up in the final world, and uses his power to rewrite the events of the past so that the guardians are not immediately defeated by Terra-Xehanort. In interviews and what not, the creators have described this event as a singularity.
Once again after defying the fate set for Kairi by returning her to the RoL, Sora fades away and ends up in the final world.

Now in FF7R, the ending has the group literally fighting destiny with the goal of freeing them from a perilous future. When they first step through the portal taking them to this battle ground of fate the location shows it as being a singularity...
Now of course this could just be similar themes and storylines spanning two different games but the kicker that got me thinking of this possible connection was the location where each of the respective heroes ends up.
With Sora, we know the place he finds himself is the final world, a world of nothing but endless water and a sky. Directly after arriving here he sets off to change the past. Cloud and co. destroy the Arbiter of Fate, (effectively altering their future) and then end up in strange place with nothing but a watery floor and besides that they are bathed in light making it difficult to see beyond what may exist.
Another interesting note is that when Sora returns to the Final World, Yozora is able to manipulate everything around him to transform into a huge city. Similarly, at first it seems Cloud is in this water world, before Sephiroth appears and summons a scene of the meteor destroying Midgar. In both cases the antagonist was able to completely alter the surroundings.
One more detail that may be insignificant, but I thought was interesting. Sora's journey to change the past began in the final world, where as Cloud's journey to change the future ends in what appears to be the final world.
Is it all just coincidence? Am I reading too heavily into one scene? Let me know what you think.
