Re: Fate of A Hero
"Excellent." Xemnas smiled wickedly. Akira began to stir. Roxas looked at Zexion and Xemnas.
"Go on." They motioned for him to be next to Akira. He obeyed.
He stood over Akira, waiting for her red eyes to open, anticipating what he was supposed to do.
Akira's eyes fluttered open, her vision hazy. A figure stood before her. She blinked multiple times, only to find it was Roxas. His blue eyes greeted her warmly.
"Wake up, sleeping beauty," He chuckled half-heartedly. Akira smiled.
"Did I pass out, Vexen?" She asked, sitting up. She rubbed her eyes.
"Yes," He answered, preoccupied writing notes, "You're free to go."
"Sounds good," Akira replied, "Where's Xemnas?"
"Gone," Vexen answered once more, nonchalantly. Roxas gave her his hand.
"Um, thank you?" She said uncertainly, taking it. He helped her off the lab table, then let go.
"I need to talk to Axel," He said quietly as they left the lab. He flashed a brilliant smile that dazed Akira.
"Er, ok..." Akira trailed off, eyes wide. Why the sudden charm?
"See you in a while," He added, grinning. Akira skipped a hearbeat.
He left in a dark portal, leaving Akira dazed in the center of the hallway.
"THEY TOLD YOU TO DO WHAT?!" Axel shouted.
"They told me they want me to play Akira." Roxas repeated ruefully. Axel's mouth dropped open.
"And I thought they couldn't get even lower," he mumbled. He looked at Roxas.
"And you said NO, right?" Axel added. Roxas looked away, ashamed.
"Aw, Roxas!" Axel cried angrily, "That's not gonna solve anything!"
"They threatened to make Akira a nobody,'' He retaliated helplessly, "I couldn't let them do that!"
"Oh Roxas....you can't feel...you don't even know how to pretend..." Axel sadly responded. Roxas blushed. Axel got the message too.
"I can't feel. I can't!" He tried to defend himself. Axel shook his head.
"You think you like her," He said. Roxas turned cherry red.
"Do not," Roxas said. Axel sighed. Then something even bigger emerged in his head.
"No no no....Roxas, this is why they asked you to do it! You...you..."
Roxas looked outside to the dark World That Never Was. Axel frowned.
"I think I love her." He said lifelessly, clutching his heartless chest.
