Re: Famitsu's D23 Expo Japan 2018 Recap

If Marluxia was present at the end of Dream Drop Distance, then he knows that Sora is weaker than ever before.

Besides, Xemnas and Ansem confronted Sora and Riku after being blown to smithereens before.

Weaker? We know that Tangled happens quite a while after Olympus. At this point Sora should have the strength he gained in DDD back. If anything he is even stronger given all of his new abilities.

Would Marluxia have known that Sora would get his strength back though? As far as I am away as to how far the Xehanort's are aware, they weakened Sora and he is stuck in a coma. That was only reversed after they went back to their own time and Sora was safely escorted back to Mysterious Tower.

Still. Why put yourself at risk when you have the option not to? Up until now, I’ve figured he just hasn’t experienced the physical changes yet for whatever reason. Possibly that due to the events of DDD, the Norts have to start fresh with the whole process. Since they returned to their times, they shouldn’t have retained it anyways.

But it seems not many other people are on board with that idea, so I figured I’d propose another possibility.

Why would Marluxia be even scared? He can just Corridor of Darkness his bottom away from danger.

See, I would love to see this worked in throughout Olympus. Either some scene where everyone is all "oh no, Sora!" and one of the Xehanort's is there and then Sora is covered in a yellow glow and lifts the Rock Titan up as he slams him into a nearby mountain and the Xehanort nods, impressed, or a scene where one of the Xehanort's tries to do something reckless and Master Xehanort calls him foolish, knowing already that he's back.

In Kingdom of Corona, though? Nomura said that was a mid-tier world, so I very highly doubt that any of them would still be in the dark about his reappearance, especially Marluxia.

Then why didn’t he just do that in CoM? He doesn’t have to scared per se. It would just be more practical.

Yeah, they’re definitely tracking him. How else would they know where his and where to send the Nobodies to attack?

The whole reason for a weak Sora is to explain why he is back at level one in the gameplay. Extending that, a level 30 Sora in Corona would still be classified as weak against a man like Marluxia.

I really think yall are overanalysing this Marluxia thing. Many characters that Sora thrashes in gameplay come back in cutscenes to taunt him or speak to him. Axel does it, Ansem does it, Xemnas does it, (Vanitas does it to Aqua and Ventus), and now Marluxia does it. I don’t think he should be, or would be, scared of being slain by Sora again when it is unclear what Marluxia is doing in Corona.

Many obvious bad guys have appeared before Sora and slipped away without being hurt (Saix, Xigbar, Luxord, Xaldin etc). It’s one of the easiest things in this series to wrap your mind around - that characters can talk without getting violent. We have seen it happen many times, I don’t know why this should be any different.

Again, I only offered the idea as a suggestion because so many people are fussing that he doesn’t have Xehanort features yet. I think it’s just due to the effects reversing after DDD or they just haven’t set in yet. Also, Xehanort never says in DDD that he’s bonded with all of his vessels. Just that all of the chosen are present.

But no one seems to agree with that, thinking there’s some ulterior reason like him being in a different Organization which we now know isn’t true. So I proposed this as a simple way he might still look the same despite already being a Nort. Marluxia seems like the vain type to not want to walk around in public looking like an old geezer.

It wasn’t intended to ruffle any feathers; it was just a thought I had.
