So, are you old fashioned and still beleive the Woman should stay home with the children, while the Man works and brings home the bacon? Or do you beleive that we are equal, and both should have equal roles in everything from raising the kids, to supporting each other, and your family?

Yes! I loooove this particular topic! My response? I think that men and women should have an equal role in taking care of the child. It is not a woman's role to watch a child, while the men bring home money!!!

I think if a woman *wants* to stay home with her child, and if the husband can make enough money to sucessfully support a family, then it's okay. However, the husband still needs to take a role and have responsibility when it comes to the childs life.

Yes the husband has to have part in raising the children. That is a must otherwise you are a bad father. As for working they can both work as long as they are both home at reasonable times and spend time with thier child.

Face I agree with you but that is because I'll let my wife be the boss of the house. Only for most of the time, if she is making a bad decision I'll step in and say no other then that you are right. But I cannot speak for all men.

Well, most women tend to do most of the cleaning and caring for, even though they also have jobs, and I don't find that right. We are equal, you say so yourself, get off your lazy bum after a hard day at work, just like us, and clean some yourself.

Women only run the house hold because they have to if the men go out and get jobs where they are gone all of the time. Also, the fact that people say that a woman doesn't get a job and stays at home with the kids... OH what a lie that is. YOU have a BIIIIG job. Watching kids/cooking/cleaning. Oy, and you get paid with dirty dipers and dirty dishes.

Nope, the guys should have to take on half of the child/household responsibilities, unless it is the wifes choice for them not to.

Exactly. As long as my husband agrees to cook some to help out, take out the garbage, and vacum (I HATE vauming....) then I'll be fine.... I'm too much of a perfectionist to let them do anything else :p

And I want to be a stay-at-home-mom (Best JOB in the world) when my child is born, till they are enrolled in school. Then I'll go get my job.

I agree with DWD but as for the saying women don't have a job I don't think al men think that. I don't I honestly think that a stay at home mom has the hardest and most rewarding job. Hardest because its a 24 7 job but its with her family.

I can't see myself being a stay at home mom for very long at all. I will for the first few months of my childs life, because those are very impressionable. However, I'm going to get a job so that I will be home for a lot of the time that they are awake. It's important to be with your children, but as a female who wants to be a wife/mother one day, I can also say that it is just as important to make sure that your husband takes a role in the domestic life as well :)

A lot of people have jobs or businesses with their family and still get paid. That's not a very good point.

Stay at home moms, clean everything, do all the laundry, take care of the kids, most of the time they even manage the finances, do the shopping, and take care of the husband when they get home... .So yeah. I think they have one of the hardest jobs, and probably it's ... rewarding, but could be better.

I agree with you DWD. I couldn't be a stay at home mom, for like... four years at the most.

Might as well stop wondering, because I'm not tell
A mother and a father should share equal responsibilities when providing for a family. If the father's trying to fix a fence, the mother should be there to use the power tools. Both a mother and father should have a job, and earn an honest living. This is my opinion.

DWD I honestly would prefer to do that. I do feel it is the man's responsiblity to take care of his family but times are changing and if the wife wishes to work Its okay as long as they are home at reasonable hours.

Tell me you didn't just sound like my Daddy giving me a timelimit on how long I could stay out on a date -_-. If the girls have to be home at responsible hours, so do the men.
