DS Problem

Ok I just got a ds lite today and I leat it charg like the book said to, but no light is on to tell me if it charging or not. When I try to turn the power on nothing is happening. Can you help me?

When you first buy one the battery is already fully charged, the only time when the light comes on when you have it plugged in is when it isn't fully charged.

Umm but the power still will not work, there is no light that tells if it on or not. Can some one help.
