Does this game matter?

I like Re:Coded and it was a fun little game but there was really no need to make it. The main point of Coded was to discover the secret of Namine's message in the Journal. That could have been done in the first few cutscenes of KH3D.

Seriously think about it. This is how they could have done it in KH3D:

Mickey and Jimminy discover the message in the journal and realize it is enchanted and only one person can see the full meaning behind the message. They think this person is Sora due to his connection to the Journal. So Mickey sends a letter to DI and summon Sora, Riku, and Kairi to Disney Castle. Sora touches the enchanted message and suddenly a flood of images and memories appear in Sora's mind and a magic recording of Namine's voice explains about the ones in torment and stuff. Sora tells Mickey what he saw in the vision and they head off to Mysterious Tower to tell Yen Sid and then he tells them to take the Mark of Mastery Exam.

And there you go, everything Coded was meant to give us wrapped up in what could have been the first 15-20 minutes of KH3D.

So, while it's true that Naminé's message was the main focal point of the game, what to you make of these hintings?

Data Sora had a heart, didn’t he?

Nomura: Theoretically he doesn’t, but I entrust the answer to the imaginations of those who’ve seen the ending.

Data Sora can newly obtain a legitimate Keyblade during his adventure, but are there changes to the real Keyblade when that happens?

Nomura: No, it’s a data version the entire time. However like with the first Keyblade, it wasn’t created by someone else. It comes from the heart’s connections with the data, hinting towards the story theme, “Can a heart be born in an existence made of data?”

Could that have been also conveyed in the first 15 Minutes of DDD?

To me it looks more like there were more subtle themes in Coded, also regarding the additional memory scenes that were shown from the time of KH 1 yet were never seen in KH 1 because they are memories hidden in the data of the worlds.

Do we know if Data-Sora doesn't have any importance outside of Coded? No, we don't as far as I can see.
Anyways, the main point would also be not Data-Sora as a person himself but the fact of a data-existence (or any other existence that isn't "normal" by the KH-Universes standards) implied to having a heart or creating a heart.

There being a sort of a new power was also commented on by Mickey.

That wouldn't have the same meaning, these memories are in the journal that SORA and co carried around in KH 1, Riku wasn't with them so his memories shouldn't be there.

you could not play this game in its entirety and still be able to play 3D because everything important from coded was included in the trailer

Not necessarily. There's still the behind-the-scenes material that might interest fans. These are particularly mysteries such as the relationship between hearts and keyblades.
