So I've heard a lot from fans, and even ex fans, say that they plan to make KH3 the last Kingdom Hearts game they ever play. Mostly because we've waited so long for 3, which will end the Xehanort saga and arc, or don't like the direction is/has been going, or just want to leave the series behind them and want this game to be their personal parting goodbye to this franchise.
So I ask you guys, what do you plan to do after this saga is over? Do you plan to stop playing future games of KH after this one releases? Do you plan to stick around for it after KH3 and are excited for the next saga? Or will it depend entirely on how satisfied you are with KH3? Or, will you become a more casual fan after this (if you aren't already) and not play every KH game and not be as invested?
I've wanted to make this topic for a long time, and I figured this would be the right time to do so, with the game being within reach but not quite yet.
For me personally, I'm very on the fence about this. To be honest, I actually have been getting less hyped with every trailer that's been released since around the last summer trailer. I don't know, maybe I had different expectations of what KH3 would be like, and what we've seen so far it's not the kind of direction I was hoping it would go. It feels more centered around the upgraded graphics and flashy spectacles and popular worlds, and less of the raw creativity and unconventional ideas.
You have the right to say I'm just being overly critical and cynical, just an entitled fan with my expectations too high. I guess these feelings are just coming to the surface for me with the 100 Acre Wood trailer, which I won't complain about here. But I just don't share the the joy many of the fans are having over it, and I wish I could.
