Days video

i don't know if this has come up before or not but i was just on HeartStaion.org and i noticed on the Days video titled "new Days trailer" when it shows the game play footage, there is footage of both donald and goofy as playable characters. did i miss that announcement somewhere? and, does the multi player mode follow any story line because if I'm not mistaken, weren't they also asleep while days was going on?

No announcement. Only gameplay footage in the trailers. Donald and Goofy are playable in Multiplayer, since multiplayer isn't canon. :3 they can do with it whatever the hell they want.
Here's to hoping we'll get Sora, Riku and Mickey playable too.

Firstly, the trailer that you happened upon is currently posted on the front page of KHInsider, and has been there for a good while now.
Secondly, there was no actual announcement of Donald and Goofy being featured as playable characters; to my knowledge, the trailer alone is all of the proof we have.
And lastly, the multiplayer mode does not follow the main storyline, being mainly for gameplay purposes only, which is why I would assume Donald and Goofy are playable.

I hereby deem this thread closed due to outdated information, coupled with fulfillment of purpose.
