Hey there,
So, Like pretty much everyone else on this site, with the exception of a few, I have never played KHX. Which saddens me greatly.:frown: But, while I have never played it, one of it's many mysteries has intrigued me. This mystery is of course the mystery of Daybreak Town.
My question is really what happened to it? Why is it so similar to many other places, and yet so different?
One obvious answer would be that it was swallowed by darkness after the keyblade war, never to be seen again. This answer makes some sense, however, when you figure in that worlds like Enchanted Dominion and Dwarf Woodlands survive and are present many, many years later this makes no sense.
As we know, after the keyblade war enveloped the world into darkness, the light of the lost worlds that was apparently snuffed out lived on the hearts of children.
Now, I don't think this is a coincidence. If Kairi's Grandmother states that "the world we [they] live in now" was a world rebuilt from before the keyblade war, shouldn't Radiant Garden appear in KHX?
Remember, Kairi's Grandma is, for all we know, completely oblivious to the fact that there are other worlds, so she must be referring to Radiant Garden.
That begs the question, where is Radiant Garden in KHX?
It has to be there, at least in some form. Could it be that Radiant Garden and Daybreak Town are connected in some fashion? I believe they are. I believe that Daybreak Town also resembles Traverse Town to some degree.
Just look at these screens:
Notice the blatant similarities in style, architecture, and color palate?
Here comes the theory part, brace yourself!
What if Daybreak Town was split into Traverse Town, and Radiant Garden?
I know it sounds a little crazy, but it's not like KH hasn't pulled this kind of thing before.
We know that there are worlds that can change forms, like LoD for example. LoD has a defense mechanism against the darkness which transforms the entire world into an in-between world. This can only be done by a powerful Keyblade Master, and leader of the world itself. We know for a fact that Keyblade wielders were abundant in the time of Daybreak town, and the 5 foretellers fit the bill quite nicely.
We know that Radiant Garden exists as a great bastion of light, we also know that Traverse Town exists to harbor refugees from fallen worlds. These worlds both have a sort of "special" ability attached to them that seem very keyblade master-esque.
My theory is that just before the Keyblade war enveloped the world in darkness, the keyblade masters split the world apart into two worlds to protect it's heart from being totally consumed by the darkness.
These worlds greatly reflected the original world's attributes and became known as Radiant Garden and Traverse Town.
Some might argue that Traverse Town only came into existence just before the events of KH1, but just because it didn't appear until then doesn't mean it didn't exist.
At any rate this is just a theory, and theories are often proven wrong, I just wanted to figure this mystery out for myself.
I hope you enjoyed reading!
(BTW, I welcome helpful critique, just please don't tear it apart, it's just a theory ;^^)

If this is true, then we can assume that great worlds of light like Daybreak Town must have survived in some fashion. BTW, note something that Kairi's Grandmother says: "With these fragments of light, children rebuilt the lost world, it's the world we live in now."Spoiler Show"Long ago, people lived in peace, bathed in the warmth of light. Everyone loved the light. Then people began to fight over it. They wanted to keep it for themselves. And darkness was born in their hearts. The darkness spread, swallowing the light and many people's hearts. It covered everything, and the world disappeared. But small fragments of light survived, in the hearts of children. With these fragments of light, children rebuilt the lost world. It's the world we live in now."
