Heart Projection Theory
I’m a new member here and I just thought I’d post
a theory of mine I’ve had for a while. So here it is.
To spare those who don’t like to read, there will
be a summary at the bottom. It's kind of small and
vague though, so I recommend reading the whole
theory before posting.
This theory begins with examining the Dark Soldier
and Master Xehanort. In the BBS Trailer we see
the Dark Soldier fade out of Master Xehanort.
This phenomenon is certainly an interesting one,
that many have theorized about. Some might say
that it is Master Xehanort splitting into Heartless
and Nobody but that theory is busted by the statement
that Heartless and Nobodies didn’t exist back then.
Others might compare the Dark Soldier to Ansem’s
Guardian in KH1 but it appears to me that the Dark
Soldier is more complicated than the Guardian and
surely has an identity of his own. Who this identity
is, I can not begin to speculate but I feel it is important
to establish that the Dark Soldier is probably not an
extension of Master Xehanort (or a clone of someone
like Terra)
They key mystery is why then does the Dark Soldier fade
out of Master Xehanort? I tried to make a connection
between Master Xehanort and Ansem the Seeker of
Darkness. Both of them have Black, White, Red Clothing
and both share a strong connection with someone
wearing the dark suit. Not including the events In Castle
Oblivion, dark suit Riku never existed at the same times
as Black, White, Red Clothing Ansem, BUT there was
one instance were both Normal Riku and Ansem existed
side by side in KH1. Remember? It was when after Kairi
had awakened and the Final Keyhole was completed.
Ansem appeared for the first time in human form and
was about to dispose of Kairi, Donald, and Goofy when
Riku appeared in the form of light and kept Ansem from
harming them. Riku’s Heart and vessel were possessed
by Ansem but Despite this, he appeared outside himself
as an extension of himself. This phenomenon is what I
call heart projection. Using Riku’s case, what appears
to happen is that someone’s heart can project a physical
form from their hearts essence. Some people might say
that Riku was simply transparent but he wasn’t transparent,
he was simply glowing (and honestly, there were like
two other scenes before that where Riku was glowing
blue and green and we know for a fact he had a physical
form in those cases. I see nothing wrong in suggesting
a nontransparent glowing yellow Riku could also have
a physical form)
I believe the phenomenon of the Dark Soldier fading
out of Master Xehanort can be explained by Heart
Projection. Let’s examine this. Master Xehanort
clearly looks like an elderly man and yet he is
A powerful warrior. His age does not seem to hinder
him. Somehow his body has defied the weakening
effects of old age (like Yoda) how can this be
explained? Is it just that he took good care of himself
throughout his life thus allowing him to live long
and still able to kick some butt (like Yoda) or is
there another reason why age seems to not be a
problem.
My body is too frail for such a journey, but I must do this.
I will cast it off and plunge into the depths of darkness.
From Xehanort to heart phantom, from heart phantom
to possessed boy, from possessed boy to materialized
former form without human weakness of original self.
What I am saying is that Apprentice Xehanort cast off
his weak body to become a dark entity. When he entered
Riku’s heart and took his vessel completely, Riku’s vessel
changed form into Apprentice Xehanort’s original form,
retaining his dark powers with no trace of the weakness
he proclaimed he once had.
Master Xehanort is old but what if he was able to do the
same thing by possessing the vessel of his apprentice and
changing its form into his image without dealing with
the weakness of his body’s old age. The Dark Soldier’s
Heart could be projected from his possessed vessel,
allowing for both to exist simultaneously and connected
to each other. I’m not saying that Master Xehanort
became a Heartless and then possessed his apprentice.
Simply I’m saying that Master Xehanort’s heart left
his vessel and possessed his apprentice, somehow
cutting out the middle step. His left over vessel did
not become a Nobody only because nobodies didn’t
exist back then. Maybe Master Xehanort’s body was
on the verge of death and his heart left as his
body died. Maybe his vessel became an inactive
vessel like Kairi’s (even though that is kind of a
Person of Pure Heart thing) Whatever the case,
Master Xehanort has no Nobody.
Summary
Riku appearing from Ansem in KH1 could
explain how DS appears from Master Xehanort
in BBS. This means that Master Xehanort might
be possessing his apprentices vessel while, like
Riku, the Dark Soldier is being projected from
Master Xehanort. No Heartless or Nobody in
this theory, just one heart possessing another.
Difference between the two cases of Riku/Ansem
and Dark Soldier/Master Xehanort is that unlike
Riku, the Dark Soldier appears to share the
same goal and intentions as the heart that is
possessing him so Master Xehanort wouldn’t
be trying to suppress his apprentices heart the
way Ansem the Seeker of Darkness did to Riku’s.
Don’t understand? Then read the unabridged
version.
That’s basically all I have to say about BBS.
I have some other ideas about the Heart Projection
Theory and how it may play into other KH mysteries
but this is already too long. I’ll end by saying that,
like the Vessel Reconstuction Concept (where Kairi’s
heart revived Sora’s heart which recreated for him a
new vessel) the Heart Projection Theory is another idea
for explaining the presence of unknown physical forms.
Also, certain characteristics of someone who is tied to
the circumstances of the Heart Projection Theory may
be if they have Black, White, Red Clothing and the
presence of another consciousness or identity tied to
them. (You might be able to guess what I am hinting at)
That’s it for now. Please properly provide criticism in a mature
manner and don’t flame too harshly if your opinions differ.
