Reina blinked gently, looking off to the side; she could have sworn she felt eyes watching her. Shrugging lightly, she lifted the choker in her hand and quickly attached it around her neck.

'It must be my imagination...'

Are you so sure?

'Do you have to bother me? I'm not in the mood.. It was peaceful without having to listen to you..'

That's too bad isn't it? You'll just have to put up with me.

The girl frowned and shook her head, pushing back the voice that was clearly annoying her. It had been with her for as long as she could remember, taunting and making quite a ruckus inside her head. Having gotten rid of the voice for now, Reina turned around and stepped under a small awning which blocked the rain; her transparent wing remaining so.

Ash sat on a stone gate that faced the entrance and exit of Traverse Town. He was thinking, lost in the eternal void of his mind. For the past few years he had been on a journey to discover himself, to understand his past and why he could not remember anything about it. He supposed most other amnesia victims were this adamant about uncovering what they once knew.

Oh, you just keep dreaming, boy. It'll take you ages before you learn anything.

Maybe if you'd shut up for once, I could try to think of a way to find some answers.

Keep holding on to that dream. Crockett may have taught you schooling and swordsmanship, but he never taught you how to use that bulk of skin you call a head.

He hated that voice, the one that called to him ever since he first came into consciousness thirteen years ago. It never had anything good to say, least of all about him. There was something... familar about it, however, and despite the fact that he utterly despised the voice, he honestly felt sort of naked without hearing it.

You do care about me!

... Shut up, damn it.

To his right, not far from where he sat in the ever-pouring rain, stood the girl. Ash's eyes were unable to leave her body once they locked onto her; she was, without a doubt, the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Something about her was graceful, yet chilling, and frightening, yet intoxicating; the rain made her look as if she was crying, engulfed by a neverending sorrow. He felt incredibly drawn to her, and if the transparent wing on her back caused him any sort of uneasiness, all possible trace of it had vanished.

He felt a resonating within his pocket. Ash dug his hand into it and pulled out the keychain his father had given him. It was shaped like a mouse head, but he cherished it deeply. The keychain glowed ominously, almost as if it was a part of his heart, reacting along with his feelings for the young woman.

Weird, but I haven't even talked to her yet. Hmm, maybe I should...

Get a life?

For two seconds, TWO FREAKIN' SECONDS, could you just SHUT UP?!

... Shutting up now. But you like her, so you better go talk to her...

The voice was right. If he liked her, he needed to talk to her, right? Placing the keychain back in his pocket, Ash pushed himself off the gate and walked towards the girl.

"What's this? a by has joined her, they are both carring keyblades well, better go down there."
Jumps off the building and into the street

You really shouldn't talk to them.

And why not?

They could be dangerous.

Don't you think I know that? Besides, I've faced tougher challenges.

"Hey there! You two! Mind if I join you?"

Ash did not hear the person calling out to them over the loud roar of the falling rain. He simply continued to approach the young woman to whom he was so attracted to. Within his mind, he contemplated what he needed to say to her...

"Hey, my name is Ash. What's yours?" No, no that wasn't good. Let's try again. "Hey, pretty wet tonight, isn't it" Now that is really lame...

Just face it. You're the one who is lame.

Hey, if I want your advice I'll ask for it... Do you have any suggestions?

Talk to her like you would any other person. Just don't screw it up like you usually do.

... Remind me never to ask for your advice again.

He stopped right beneath the awning, but only partially as he was still being soaked by the rain. The girl did not see him, so he cleared his throat. He could feel his face burning and his heart beating rapidly. "Eh... hey, how you doing tonight?"

She blinked, rapidly falling out of the daze she remained in. Her attention soon fell over to the strange boy who had obviously spoken to her; murmurs only reaching her distant mind.

You weren't paying attention.. nice work, stupid.

'Hey, shut up! I was trying to figure out what I'm suppose to do next!'

Maybe you should stop daydreaming and find that source of the darkness...

Reina shook her head and sighed, the rivets running down her face continued as they were and dropped to the cobblestone floor. "Uhm.. H-hey." Was her wavering response, her words quite uncertain and less focused. She was still recovering from her daydream, it was more of a dream to be specific; her past was showing itself again in small blips and static flashbacks of the sort. A hand raised up and gently waved as a greeting gesture to the boy.

OOC: Er sorry..

IC:

Go! Go get them now!

"No... just leave me alone... I am busy watching. Besides, they show no real threat..." He sighed a moment. "Hoewever, if it makes you happy.."

He raised his hand as suddenly twenty Neo-Shadows appeared, accompanied by ten dusks. " Go get them... do not kill them, but incapacitate them, DO NOT STEAL THEIR HEARTS! Not yet.."

They nodded as the dusks suddenly whipped out of sight and the Neo-Shadows faded away.

Ash smiled weakly and he rubbed his head, trying to formulate some sort of question. He did not want to seem stupid or nervous to the girl, but he really wished that he had taken a bit more time to figure out what he wanted to say to her.

Once again you acted without thinking.

... I'm just going to ignore you.

"Heh, I know this seems weird, but I just wanted to come over and say-"

Suddenly a loud ping shouted inside his head, and Ash quickly whipped his body around to see Heartless appear out of the darkness. They were different from what he was used to fighting; these Heartless were taller versions of the Shadows he normally fought, and no doubt they were much stronger as well. The others were white with a small hint of light blue.

Dusks... Neo-Shadows... get ready to fight.

Huh? How do you know what they-

Several of the Neo-Shadows immediately attacked, charging at Ash and the girl with amazing speed. He grabbed the girl and rolled out into the rain as the Neo-Shadows broke the wooden shelter that they had been standing under. Gritting his teeth, he turned to the girl and whispered, "Get out of here, I don't want you to get hurt." Unafraid of the Heartless, he thrust out his right arm and summoned the light from within. There was a bright flash of light as the Kingdom Key appeared in his outstretched hand.

Ash gripped the weapon tightly and shouted at the Heartless, "Bring it on!!"

He ran at one of the NS and waited for it to counterattack; indeed, as the NS lashed out with a claw swipe, Ash flipped over the creature and sliced it in two with the keyblade. More attacked, but he had a ready grin on his face. This is going to be one helluva workout. As they came in for the attack, Ash deflected a couple of them away and killed a couple by leaping above them and twirling in the air, spinning the keyblade so fast that it cut them to ribbons. A Dusk then came out of nowhere and struck him in the side before he hit the ground, hurling him into another building. Reacting as fast as he could, Ash grabbed a lamp post, spun around in a complete 360 degree circle and propelled himself towards the Heartless. He thrust the Keyblade forward and impaled five of them as he flew through the large group.

At that point, however, Ash was left unguarded. The remaining Dusks and Neo-Shadows jumped on him and slammed him into the ground. Blood spewed from his forehead as it connected with the concrete ground with bone-shaking force. His adversaries then continued their attack, slashing at him and getting ready to kill him.

God... this didn't turn out very well...

Don't worry. I think help might be on the way pretty soon...

He watched and suddenly his eyes widened. "WHAT?! NO!! DO NOT KILL HIM!!"

Suddenly he disappeared...with a simple woosh sound, and he had vanished.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A boy with silver hair appeared to see Ash being beaten, more than likely, to death. He walked over calmly as there was an odd red glow, and the sound of a blade, and then the heartless were gone, and he then did the same to the Dusks.
He turned back towards Ash. "Hello, my name--" He held his head for a second as the voice screamed out.
NO NO NO! THEY ARE HERE! NO FOOL! DO NOT TALK TO THEM!
He bit back the pain as he tried to smile. "You look pretty banged up stranger.." He held out his hand. "Curaga..." Suddenly there was a green light around Ash, and he was healed.
Reina frowned, staring at the new comer with little trust, something was not quite right about him.
He's.. one of them.
'One of who?'
Nevermind.. We should probably just leave.
She watched as the stranger healed Ash, her opinion had slowly changed about him. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all, but still.. there was something about him that she was unable to place. Letting the frown take leave of her expression, a lighter one was replaced with it.
With footsteps lighter than air, she made her way over to the two and stood just alittle ways away. "We should probably find some sort of shelter, it's better than standing out here in the rain.. waiting to be killed." The girl stated, and glanced down to Ash; he had the same exact weapon as..
She shook her head and sighed, this all felt as if it were a dream.
If only life was that simple...
Ame sat idly atop a building in Traverse Town, eyes scanning the empty streets. There wasn't much activity, seeing as how everyone had gone inside to wait out the storm. Ame didn't mind the rain, though maybe that was because of the barely-visible silver aura that radiated around her, pushing back the raindrops and keeping her dry. To anyone who saw her, she was a mystery, a silent, glowing figure keeping watch like a lovely gargoyle on the cold roof-top. For keeping watch was what Ame did, hoping to stop the ever-present Heartless from stealing away the hearts of what few people remained in Traverse Town.
Speaking of which-
Heartless began appearing around her, eyes glowing soulessly in the darkness. She immediately leapt up and summoned her Keyblade, the smooth, transluecent crsytal blending in with the rain so that it seemed to be made of water itself. Ame readied herself into battle position, focusing her Twilit engery. Two wings immediately blossomed from her bare shoulders, one pure white and dragon-like, the other demon-black and reminiscent of an angel's. She took lightly to the air, wings beating effortlessly against the downpour. Ame trained her Keyblade on several of the Heartless, ready to release a firaga spell into their midst. Before she could do so, however, the darkness that normally laid subdued in her heart overcame her. She lowered her Keyblade off to one side, her lips quirking into a mirthless smile. She waved her hand over the crowd of Heartless, dark energy emitting from her. The shadows responded, twitching their antenna as they sensed her resolute control.
"My servants," Ame whispered harshly. "I-"
"NO!" she yelled suddenly, her light side fighting against her darkness. "No no no! I'm not like this, I don't want to follow that path! Let me GO!" her body spasmed as she fought with herself.
"No!" Ame said again, her voice harsher once more. "I have the essence of pure shadow! The Heartless are MINE, the worlds-"
Ame's Keyblade clattered to the rooftop as she clutched her head. "No! I won't do this!" she looked around at the confused Heartless, grey eyes burning with fury. The darkness around her began to fade away, being swallowed by an aura of nearly blinding light that instantly disintigrated the Heartless around her. With a final cry, she let herself be overcome by her light energy, falling with the rain as her wings gave way and her power faded. As she lay unconscious on the ground, her wings sheilding her, her heart worked on balancing out it's two dangerous sides once more.
He blinked and looked at them and then slowly stood stiffly for a moment. "I should probably go... I couldn't help but seeing you were in trouble though...take care... okay?"
He smiled, and with that, walked off, as rain started to pour harder on them, and he really did not mind, at least not at the moment, he was busy in thought.
It was while he was swimming with these thoughts, that he found a girl laying on the ground with wings shielding her body. He walked over and slowly picked her up in his arms, thankfully she was alive. She may would prove useful...
Suddenly, he ran back to the other two. "Hey! You two! I found htis girl! She was hurt! She is eminating twilight ener..." He blinked, just kicking himself mentally for giving away the fact that he knew more than what he was letting on. "Well, she is hurt...come on"
He had just spotted a hotel, and rushed into a room, and laid her on the bed as he took off his wet jacket and gloves and boots and sat them by the furnace in the corner.
Ame returned to consciousness like a swimmer rising from the water. She blinked, and took a deep breath, unfurling her mismatched wings and stretching them. It was only then that she realized that she was no longer lying on the ground. She wasn't even outside anymore. Ame looked carefully around her, recognizing the hotel. And it wasn't empty either. An unfamiliar man stood in the corner. Ame sat up and narrowed her eyes, watching him warily.
"How did I get here?" she asked.
Ash rubbed his head as he watched the silver-haired guy pick up the winged girl and carry her into the hotel. He had been sure that he was going to die, but the guy had healed him - but why? Who in the world was he?
We shouldn't trust him.
But why? He healed me and that girl. He can't be that bad.
Trust me for once. We should get out of here.
Ash shrugged and glanced over at the young woman who he had fought to protect. She did not say anything, but seemed to be in deep thought. He smiled; even though he had nearly gotten killed, at least he had saved her.
I don't think she really needed to be saved.
How come? She doesn't have any weapon.
That
you can see, but I can.
He sighed and called over to her, "Hey, miss! Let's go on inside to check on that girl!" Motioning for her to follow him, Ash ran inside the hotel and found the room that the other guy and girl were in. The winged girl seemed to be fully healed by now, and the young man was standing off to the side.
Ash walked over to the guy and held out his hand, smiling. "Hey man, thanks for saving me out there. And her as well," he indicated the winged girl on the bed.
Reina sighed and followed the small quaint group, wondering what would become of them if they continued this little charade. She felt somewhat attatched to the boy whom had spoken to her last and also to the other male whom had healed Ash.
Don't trust either of them, they'll just slow you down...
'Slow me down from what?'
Just, listen to me for once.
She shook her head and frowned, narrowing her eyes as she watched the other girl rise from her spot on the floor as she entered the room. Wait.. she had wings? Maybe they were connected somehow, or maybe not.. Reina ran a hand through her brunette locks and stared over to the silent boy whom idly stood off to the side.
Far away, on the corrupted world called Hollow Bastion, Heartless swarmed everywhere. They terrorized the townspeople and killed many of them. The sounds of screams echoed in every home, in every building, and from his throne in the castle, the Dark Master was comforted by the sound.
The Dark Master was completely shrouded in darkness; he looked like a more human version of a Darkside, but was far more devillish. His pale yellow eyes glowed ominously in the dim light of the room as he stared at the crystal ball he held in his right hand. The Dark Master looked at it thoughtfully, watching as a group of teenagers gathered inside a hotel room on a far away world. In a corner of the room stood his first lieutenant, a man who struggled inwardly with the forces of light and darkness.
"No matter. Eventually the darkness will conquer him." The Dark Master let out a low, demonic chuckle.
"The darkness always wins."
He then turned his attention to the others in the room. While he did not care about them in the slightest, he had watched the young man with the Kingdom Key defeat Heartless with expertise. The boy possessed remarkable power, a power that was unknown to anybody, especially himself. The girl standing, however... she was truly a force to be reckoned with. She and the boy were the most dangerous of them all...
"They will be taken care of, momentarily," the Dark Master said in his booming voice. He eyed all of the children, as well as his lieutenant, with humor and curiosity. Perhaps they would give him a show after all.
