Children Of Steel

In an alternate future, Earth is under attack by a mysterious alien menace, capable of possesing it's victims and transforming them into monsters. You take the role of a pilot of an advanced combat machine, known as a Proto Frame, representing a nation of your choice in the defence of mankind. Inspired by a myth, religious, or historical figure related to the country you represent, your Frame is the only weapon capable of defending againt the aliens, and the last hope of humanity.

Country/Roleplayer/Frame/Basis

When choosing your country, bear in mind this is set in an alternate future, so you may choose an empire or race deemed "Dead" in this world, such as the aztecs and spartans, or rewrite history so a relativly small nation in this reality is on-par with larger empires, such as canada or new zealand. There may only be one person representing each country, however.

Let's try to avoid using any basis' that may offend others. For example, off the top of my head, the pilot from Germany will not be piloting a swatsticka-emblazoned mecha-hitler. Even if you think it'd be cool for his moustache to fire lasers.

If you intend to join, please post the country of your choice, the name of your Frame, and it's basis. It's first-come-first-served insofar as countries as concerned. If the one you want is taken, perhaps you could research another country with similar claim to the basis you wanted to use.

Additional backstory, information on specific nations and politics, and information related to the aliens will be avilable before the RP begins. Currently there is a briefing on the design and operation of the mecha you will be piloting below.

Aliens
The "Aliens" are a mysterious force capable of altering the human body, transforming the mind and physical form of it's victims into monsters. Their exact nature is unknown, and thus far, data collected on victims indicates that they are 99.5% identical to humans, in terms of composition and structure. For an unknown reason, the "Aliens" cannot attack humans within Earth's atmosthere, only those within space, thus all extra-atmosthere activities are on indefinate lockdown following the capture and transformation of the crews of several ships and the international space station.

At this stage, it is unknown if humans who've fallen victim to this process can be rescued.

Thus far a single major discovery has been made concerning the aliens: Their victims produce a field of unknown origin and function in which airbourne signals cannot travel, rendering Mass-Production Combat Frames immobile and useless in close proximity.

A tall man, six feet and seven inches so, solidly built and with blonde hair, as most of his people are. His skin is a slight tan, while his locks fall on either side of his head slightly curled, dirty blonde near the roots. Intense green eyes are what he sees the world through, and a stubble of golden-brown hair frames his jaw. Strong, jutting nose and brow give him the defining look of a modern, Nordic warrior.
Personality:
A man of stern conviction who only loses his cool when given brute power to wield, at which time he will commence a frenzy of fairly well-directed destruction. This applies to the pilot when moving about in his own body, and when piloting O-Delta, at most times remaining calm and choosing his targets and attacks with extreme care and precision.

FRAME
Model:
Obsidian-Delta-v Insertion Proto Frame, shorthand O-DIN, colloquially abbreviated to O-Delta
Weight Class:
Moderate-weight frame, though characterised by heavy armour and weaponry.
Design:
A Proto Frame with pale-silver 'skin', proportioned exactly like Erik, of course. Clad in removable armour of a typically ablative nature - it has a tendency to be damaged beyond repair in long or intense encounters. But, as armour drops off, O-Delta's speed increases, in some ways, it becomes more difficult to kill the less armour it wears. Trailing out of the sides and back of the head are a wide array of sectioned cables, centimetres-thick, each of which works as an external sensor for a different kind of data. Giving the appearance of bronze hair, they are generally fragile, but need to be left outside the mech's protection to function fully.
The apparent 'helmet' worn by O-Delta isn't a worn garment, but extra plates that interlock with various points on the Proto Frame's head. Its design renders a cross between Viking and Spartan helmet designs in regards to the frontal Corinthian slit, while maintaining the signature 'horns' of Nordic armour, which have been appropriated as up-and-backwards curving antennae.
The armour O-Delta wears is reminiscent of that of Lancelot Albion from Code Geass, though bulkier, and with more gold lining on the armour. Sans wings.
Special Weapons/Equipment:
MJOLNIR
A weapon slightly smaller than O-Delta itself, it can alter its shape slightly depending on how Erik wishes it to be used. In combat against small numbers of enemies, it is held like a sword, albeit with an exceptional large and boxy hilt with a one-side blade. On the 'dull' side of the blade is a handle running the length of it which slides outwards when MJOLNIR is used as a blunt, brute-strength weapon. The 'hilt' of the blade expands and opens up, consuming the handle of the blade configuration, as a glowing blue engine within the former hilt becomes apparent.
Upon impact with a target - usually the hull of a ship or a well-armoured mech - the engine spins into overdrive, initiating the Resonance Wave. radially blasting out a destabilising resonance wave - essentially starting a vibration in an object that is propagated by the target itself, until the target shakes itself to pieces. The resonance wave is most effective against solid objects in space, but the presence of atmosphere, free-moving objects and loose welds and joins all detract from the complete effect of the weapon.

SLEIPNIR Booster Frame
Eight directional plasma rockets, organised along the base corners of a vertically-elongated octagonal pyramid. The would-be point of which is a chunky, well-armoured control unit for the attachment frame. Four canisters of fusion material are embedded in the diagonal faces of the control unit, which itself plugs into the back of O-Delta.
The total number of rockets, as well as their fuel and turning capabilities, give O-Delta fantastic means by which to quickly infiltrate enemy territory and strike at the heart of their fleet or operations, all the while fairly able to dodge long range fire. Once in the heat of battle, the SLEIPNIR frame is jettisoned, and guides itself to a safe location nearby until it is called upon again.

Special Abilities:
Resonant Impact
A strike from the hammer-form MJOLNIR sees a sudden burst of a destabilising kinetic energy wave transferred directly into the target. Propogated by the very matter of the target - the more massive and solid a target, the more effective the Resonance Wave is - the components of the victim are essentially shaken apart.
The Resonant Impact's effect is most powerful against solid objects in space, but the presence of atmosphere, free-moving objects and loose welds and joins in and directly around the target all detract from the complete effect of the weapon.
Overview:
The O-Delta proto frame began design and development on the outer edge of the solar system, on Uranus' forth major moon, the primarily-Nordic Oberon. The frame and arms developer Obsidian, famed for their high-stealth insertion systems and doing very well for themselves, took it upon themselves to finally take a business risk, and designed an alternate insertion model that may well be just as effective as a near-invisible one. Approaching at insane velocities - usually only safely achieved in space - the model in question had the option of approaching with a frontally-configured stealth unit. Armed with the speed and firepower lacked by the small, fragile, stealthy frames, what would become the O-Delta had the primary purpose of entering unseen into enemy territory and crippling them before any significant reaction was mounted. The Oberon locals came to think of the Proto Frame as a representation of their god Odin, speeding into battle upon his steed, swiftly and resolutely delivering carnage to the enemy with an almost Viking-like frenzy.
O-Delta's first action in proper combat was, ironically enough, during Proto Frame-specific war games held in the L4 Trogan asteroid field of Jupiter. As an act of corporate espionage, the war games on the L5 Trojan asteroid field - usually for the much more populated Combat Frame encounters - had been unofficially moved to the L4 war games, which turned into actual warfare, where a good many Proto Frames still yet to be officially announced had the opportunity - and made great use of it - to decimate the opposition. Erik himself has forged many friendships from those he fought alongside, even though Obsidian saw them all as competitors.

The Grande Eagle is light model primarily produced for aerial combat. When on ground; it moves as slow as a medium weight class model. But once it's turbines activate it is granted the power of flight. When flying it go reach speeds up to 300mph, and can maneuver itself effectively.

The Grande Eagle contains a special core that produces the energy that is used by the model. After a long cool down it can be used as a weapon. For instance: If the Grande Eagle is being chased by a dozen of fighter jets, it can use the core to send out an array of energy whips that would skewer the victims.

Overview:
For four years the U.S military has worked on the Grande Eagle. At first it was to be used as a base for the mass produced line of frames. This period of time was known as Phase I, and after this period the Grande Eagle was a major success. All prototype designs were first introduced to this model, though many were removed later on.
After the alien attacks the U.S had two choices: [1]Design a new frame that would coast up to a trillion dollars, or [2]combine the best designs so far & add them to the Grande Eagle. Option two was done without hesitation, since the U.S had to start working on it's defenses against the aliens.... (WILL EDIT LATA')

Appearance: Easily towered over by most people around her, Stasja only reaches a height of 5'1. Her body is petite and slender, while her face usually has a look that would be considered cute to most people. Her face is small and rounded, with a pointed chin barely noticeable. Her cheeks are lightly shaded with a blue makeup, complimenting her sparkling blue eyes perfectly. Her hair is waist-length, falling dead straight and being a bone white colour. It is usually left out, covering her back bar a few strands from her fringe. Sometimes she is seen with blue lipstick on, but only on rare occasions.

She is usually found in a blue dress, excluding when she is wearing her Exo-Suit. It's a strapless dress, starting just over her breasts, running over her body and ending just above her knees, a black strap tied around her waistline. [Dress Here] She also wears a pair of shin-high combat boots, with thick metal buckles loosing holding them on.

Her Exo-Suit is the same blue colour as her dress and is very tight-fitting, hugging her curves and leaving the imagination hungry for more. [Picture to come]

Personality: Almost completely different to her cute and childish appearance, Stasja is almost always seen intoxicated. She is commonly found with a vodka bottle or smelling heavily of the drink. Speaking with a heavy Russian accent, she knows enough English to get her through-out a day in another country, but often yells in her native tongue, taunting and probably swearing at other people. She often speaks her mind, influenced by the vodka, which manages to get her into trouble a lot. Surprisingly, she actually pilots her Frame better when she has been drinking then when she's sober....

Model: M-Type Wintery Death, nicknamed the Mara

Weight Class: Lightweight, with minimal armour.

Design:

The entire Frame is based on a female body, holding the slender curves and shape many men adore. There are no eyes, but instead has a visor over the eyes, with two small protrusions under the eyes. The nose and mouth are covered in a similar manner to ancient ninjas.

The body is thin and slender, with a slightly large bust, working its way down to a stomach with muscle definition showing slightly and down to a well developed waistline, giving the Frame the "hourglass" look. The armour that covers the Frame is a new development, Anti-Grav Armour. It is suspended just away from the body, essentially never touching the torso. These plates cover the breast and pelvis area, leaving the mid-rift exposed, showing the wiring and accessories of the Frame, but also concealing a small array of weapons.

The arms and legs have the Anti-Grav Armour also, covering the back of the appendages, but have a gap in the frontal parts, allowing for concealed weapons also. The elbow and knee each have an extra armour plating, suspended over them, moving freely with the Frame's movements.

Special Weapons:
Frost Scythe - With a handle longer then the entire Frame, its amazing to see Mara wield it with such ease. The straight handle comes to a long, wide blade of highly volatile energy, able slice through almost anything. It also can turn something into a ice, similar to being exposed to Liquid Nitrogen, making the slightest touch shatter whatever was contained. Two tuners on the handle are able to be twisted, enlarging either its length or width at the pilot's pleasure.

Special Abilities:
Shoulder Pads - These light-weight pads are not just for protection, but also emit an electric current, controlled completely by the pilot. Usually in the form of a dress similar to her usual attire, the dress acts as a shield in its passive state, but can also be used to amplify power to an attack or to create a weapon if need be. The hair on the Frame is the same current, giving it a free, wild movement at all times. The current can also mimic its surroundings, creating a camo for the Frame if needed.

Nullification - The gravitational armour around the Mara completely splits off the Frame and with the help of the electric current, effectively joins into one massive shield, able to withstand a small nuke if need be. Can only be used three times in one combat before risk of damaging the armour sets in.

Overview: When fully completed and upgraded, the circuitry and parts over the body store a variety of small, hidden weapons, such as small pistols, energy daggers (similar to the Frost Scythe) and grenades.

And we've already had this discussion at length amongst ourselves. While christianity certainly has numerous links to modern day america, it can hardly have been said to have originated or had any significant contribution there. You'd be better off going with Rome if you want to use Lucifer.

Her build is very athletic by numerous demands on her body from rigorous training and martial arts.

Personality: She has a cold and very logical thought process. Whenever she makes decisions it is with complex reasoning and cold calculating procedure. She may seem to have no emotions or barely little, but she is capable of compassion and comradery. Her logical process was repeated on her from birth. She was born and raised in a military program where she was taught to be an emotionless killer from an early age.
