I recently read a poem by Argentinian author Jorge Luis Borges and it really reminded me of KH3’s focus on the chessboard. The game of chess is intertwined with the theme of fate. I am really excited to see how fate and the book of prophecies impact the end of Sora’s adventure, and how the chess game between young Xehanort and Eraqus comes into play in the overarching narrative.

Across the black and white of the field.
They know not that the player’s notorious
Hand governs their destiny,
They know not that a rigor adamantine

I’m especially excited to see if there’s a “God behind God†in KH3
