Hehe seems that I forgot to add an entry to the boss bestiary
After revealing the keyhole at Traverse Town and making your way to the town square Guard Armor appears for another bout with Sora and Co. However, the battle is short lived and after a couple of combos Guard Armor uses his ace in the hole.
Boss Stats:
- HP: 900 (Body) 135 (Arms & Legs)
- ATK: 15 (Body, Arms & Legs)
- DEF: 12 (Body, Arms & Legs)
- MP Rec: 23 (Body, Arms & Legs)
- EXP: 390 (Body)
Preparations:
Opposite Armor is not a difficult boss by the time you acquire higher level magic and the highly regarded cure (which can be a godsend) . However, it's best to carry a few potions or ether's if you are dependent on magic.
Battle Strategy:
The strategy used on its first form fit pretty well with Opposite Armor, and it gives a 'tell' when it's about to attack; lurching back and pivoting forward is the basic physical attack it uses throughout the battle. However, when its HP reaches about half (the green bar) its limbs act like they have a mind of their own and work in tandem with one another.
The head and hands act like a gyro, constantly spinning and can do decent damage so it's best to attack when its on the defensive. On the other hand you have the body and hands (or should I say feet lol), they're slower when on the defensive but that doesn't mean you should let your guard down either. Speaking of which it's the perfect opportunity to get tech points via using the guard ability against either the body and ha- er feet combo or the head and hands combo. One of its more deadly desperation moves is to combine its body parts into a gun which shoots a fast moving (but short ranged) blast. It can be guarded against but it does not reflect the attack back to the target or otherwise. Lay down a good number of combos, dodge its attacks by looking for its 'tells' and use items wisely to make this battle a walk in the park.
|Tips|
- If you're party is low on healing items focus on the limbs since they're destructible and offer a lot of HP orbs.
- For magic users, Fire, Blizzard and Thunder are quite effective; particularly fire
- While Summoning uses up MP, if you wish to finish things up quickly Simba's "Roar" command can make short work of Opposite Armors HP bar.
