Re: Boss Strategies and Tips

Yeah, depends on the situation really I just do it for dramatics :D
Though I rarely heal against him, his attacks are only blistering if you don't know what you're doing >_>

Re: Boss Strategies and Tips

I only needed it when he raced the room like a madman, as it ends with an attack that releases energy columns all over the room, unavoidable.

Actually from that end combo if you stand near the machine on it's right side on top of the balcony you can pretty much avoid the whole attack. It worked out for me quite well.

Re: Boss Strategies and Tips

Well it's late on my end So I'll try and be quick with this, on to the next world Olympus Coliseum!
And the first boss you fight is our spikey haired anti hero Cloud!

╬ Cloud ╬
da2d2.jpg

(I centered the pic since it looks a lot better that way)

Boss Stats:

  • HP:300
  • ATK:11
  • DEF:10
  • MP Rec:15
  • EXP: 80

Boss History:

One of the more enigmatic characters Cloud's past is shrouded but his main objective is clear, take out Hercules and the one who's pulling the strings is Hades. How exactly is through a contract but I believe that Cloud is searching for something more than a fight to the death, what is his secondary objective?

Pre battle tips:

Fighting him will be at the end of the Phil Cup, so you'll have to save potions and other accessories for later.
However it would be a good time to replace the Kingdom Key with the Jungle King (if you didn't skip Deep Jungle) Also having the fire spell in the shortcut menu is a good idea as that spell will come in handy.

Boss Battle:

The final round will be the hardest if you don't know what you're doing.

First thing to expect is Clouds standard attacks a 3 hit combo which is quite slow. The best way to counter this is a head on attack, but be sure to time it correctly. If you do time it right he will deflect your advance and leave himself open for a combo so show no mercy! But be wary as the counter attack isn't fool proof, at times he can even deflect that (Similar to Riku actually).

This works almost every time but here's the kicker, eventually he'll become more defensive and back away DO NOT FOLLOW HIM. He'll do one of two things, the first is his Sonic Blade technique which is a ground based attack. He'll charge at you with a medium ranged stab with his buster sword, distance and dogde rolls are key to avoiding this attack (he will also focus on those who are attacking him meaning Donald and Goofy are fair game!; also the dead give away to his attacks is his battle cry which after 1.5 seconds commences the attack) Second is and aerial attack which can be just as bad as the Sonic Blade but it's just as avoidable. Just dodge roll out of the way and you should be fine.

You don't actually have to win the fight as losing doesn't give you a game over nor affect the story in anyway, though this should be enough to beat the snot out of him >:3

Battle Tips:

  • Attack him when he's on the offensive with his 3 hit combo to get a chance to counter, it's not always effective however.
  • To do more damage and distance yourself from him use Fire magic, but don't abuse it.
  • During his Sonic Blade attacks dodge roll to avoid.
  • Use items sparingly.

+Winners Spoils+

  • A meager 80 EXP =\

Re: Boss Strategies and Tips

Steady but solid, good going. I finally got the defender shield after hours of killing defenders, on to the hades time trial.

Re: Boss Strategies and Tips

Thanks ^^ I was particularly happy with this one.
From now on I'll do them like this, if you don't know what I mean compare it to the previous ones I did.
This one is more revised.

And congrads on getting the defender shield, I still have to acquire mine :p

They suck to get, don't they. I've had sheer luck to get the wizard staff, i got it on my first visit to hollow bastion.

It might be helpful if you provide links to the different posts in your first post, so people don't have to search this entire thread. Just a suggestion. :3

Ice titan is fun, deflecting alone kills him

Re: Boss Strategies and Tips

Deflecting the Ice Titan's spikes to kill him would take forever though

Its funny... Fire isn't overly effective against it... Did anyone else find that weird?

Re: Boss Strategies and Tips

I fought him once, it's key to deflect the ice shard attacks, and for the love of god don't use Aero the ice blasts only get bigger and if you rely on the spell instead of blocking it doesn't work and you take damage.

The best way is to block its attacks and sooner or later it will be stunned and kneel down to one leg at that point attack with no mercy. Afterward he stars to summon ice shards through the ground and the best way to avoid that is to take to the steps and dodge roll like crazy if they start catching up.
