{A Deadman Wonderland Roleplay}
By icmasticc
The Prelude
Welcome to Tokyo. It's been approximately 100 years since the closing of the privately operated prison known as Deadman Wonderland. While the memory of that cruel and inhumane place is just about dead and gone, the presence of the Deadmen are stronger than ever. Thanks to the original Deadmen living out their lives as normal and reproducing, a small percentage of the present population now possesses the mutation which allows one to manipulate their blood in a specific manner. However, to keep peace and order in the city, the government recreated Undertakers. Under their protection, new Deadmen and regular humans live their lives peacefully together. At least, that was how it started and remained for a certain period of time. Then, Scar Chain reappeared. Scar Chain/The Current Story
Just as before, Scar Chain is made up of a group of Deadmen. Unlike their previous incarnation though, this new Scar Chain has only one goal in mind; the absolute subjugation of Japan, starting with Tokyo. They believe that Deadmen are superior to average humans and, as such, they should be allowed to rule over them. Of course, this has sparked an aggressive response from the government and the Undertakers were sent in to put an end to Scar Chain's plan by any means necessary. As of now though, Scar Chain is still too small to be a proper threat and not every Deadman cares about their plight. This is where our story begins. The city of Tokyo has been declared to be in a state of watch. The Undertakers are on the lookout for members of Scar Chain and Scar Chain is on the move to recruit as many Deadmen as possible. Life is unpredictable and the fate of any individual is in their hands alone. There is one truth we all share however, regardless of how we live our lives and the choices we make; In the end, we will all be dead men, one way or the other.

The Classes
Deadmen-Deadmen, as they are now, are the product of a mutation within the body that allows a person to manipulate their own blood in a specific manner. This ability is also called a Branch of Sin. Each Branch of Sin is unique to each individual Deadman. The new generation of Deadmen also gained some new abilities thanks to an evolution in the mutation. In addition to controlling their own blood, Deadmen's bodies have become physically stronger and more durable than a normal human body. They are also impervious to human melee attacks(i.e. human hand-to-hand) and human projectile weapons do less damage to them than they would any normal citizen. However, melee weapons(such as blades, maces, etc) still have the ability to kill a Deadman if they are openly attacked enough. In addition, if a Deadman uses too much blood, they can inadvertently kill themselves from blood loss. This usually occurs with abilities where the blood does not return to the body.
The Deadmen co-existed with humans in peace until the new Scar Chain appeared. Since then, some humans have grown to dislike and/or fear them once again but not everyone is the same. In any case, Deadmen are still free to live as they please so long as they are not a member of Scar Chain. In that case, they would be hunted by the new Undertakers.
Undertakers
-The new Undertakers are different from the old. They are now genetically modified human beings that are able to provide a proper challenge to any Deadman. While they cannot manipulate their blood, they carry specialized, custom weapons call Worm Eaters that are able to significantly damage and kill Deadmen. Unlike humans, Undertakers can even use hand-to-hand combat to damage a Deadman thanks to their physical modifications. Because of their function though, Undertakers only carry one Worm Eater and a small, backup weapon. They are also free game to human weapons since their bodies did not evolve as Deadmen did; the government only modified them in such a way as to combat malicious Deadmen.
Humans
-Humans are just that; human. Their bodies are not modified and they do not carry the Worm Eaters. However, to protect themselves, humans can carry an array of weaponry. Though they are not directly involved in the Scar Chain and Undertaker conflict, they are indeed caught in the crossfire. Smart humans carry melee weaponry aside guns and projectiles for the possibility of both an Undertaker and Deadman enemy. In times like these, no one is to be trusted and anything could happen.
The Factions
Scar Chain
-The new Scar Chain is an antagonistic organization. They believe that Deadmen are superior and should rule over humans. In order to achieve this goal however, they first need to deal with the government Undertakers. Besides that, Scar Chain also believes in giving non-affiliated Deadmen a chance to join their group before eliminating them. If you refuse an offer to join Scar Chain from one of its members, prepare for a fight. They take no chances on a rebel force of Deadmen forming to take them down.
The Undertakers
-The Undertakers are a special force of the government created to keep peace and order in the city of Tokyo. Since Deadmen now live among humans, a special type of being was needed that could properly challenge them should criminals arise within their ranks. This is where the Undertakers came in. Under them, the city has enjoyed peace but, Scar Chain is now threatening that tranquility. Just like police or the military, Undertakers wear navy blue uniforms that differentiate them from other people. They also carry special weapons called Worm Eaters that are designed to specifically injure and/or kill the new generation of Deadmen. Since Scar Chain has become a threat, the Undertakers have been mobilized in order to take them down. Their orders are simple; find members of Scar Chain and eliminate them by any means necessary.

-Trey Markus stands 6'0 and weighs about 165 lbs. He tends to dress the way he feels, which is to say he doesn't really care for the latest fashions or anything. He is athletically toned and possesses a tribal tattoo on the right half of his back. This tattoo also extends to his shoulder and down to his elbow, creating a half sleeve on his right arm. Trey doesn't care for jewelry so he doesn't wear earrings or necklaces or things like that. Accessories tend to get destroyed when he uses his Branch of Sin anyway so that was another reason he quit wearing the crap.
Faction-Neutral
Branch of Sin
Lightning Rod
-The Lightning Rod Branch of Sin takes advantage of the electrolytes within blood and allows Trey to electrify his own. The ability gained its name because when Trey uses his blood, it comes out in the form of a spike from any part of his body he chooses. He can also extend and retract the length of the spike if need be. These spike constructs are charged with electricity and can electrocute opponents. Of course, there are far more creative uses for the ability besides this obvious endeavor. Using these spikes, Trey can also absorb electricity from anywhere it is present. Finally, Trey can unleash any number of spikes from his body at the same time depending on the necessity but, if he releases too many, major blood loss can occur as each spike takes a certain amount of blood to form.
Weaponry-In order to cut down on Branch of Sin use, Trey carries a single, double-edged sword. The blade is about 3 feet long with a foot long hilt.
Special Skills
-Swordsmanship
-Free Running
-Evasive Driving
Biography
-Treyvion Markus was born in the city of Tokyo. Just like a small percent of the population, Trey was born a new generation deadman. He first discovered his ability in grade school, during one of the few altercations he's ever been in. Through a burst of emotion, the young boy was able to form his own blood into a spike construct after being savagely beaten by a bully. Since then, he experimented with it further and realized that he could also electrify the liquid through further concentration. One would have thought that having an ability like this would open up a new world but, for Trey, he didn't actually care much.
Trey lived a normal life into his adulthood and up to the point Scar Chain appeared. When he heard their plight he instantly wrote them off as extremist fools. He vowed that he would never join such an idiotic organization and continued to live his life. However, with the Undertakers mobilized, even Trey was beginning to look like a suspect in their eyes for some reason or another.
In the end, Trey is still trying to live with the fact that Scar Chain exists and the Undertakers are mobilized. Scar Chain is giving deadmen a bad name which is causing the Undertakers to look suspect any deadman initially. These turn of events have caused Trey to severly limit the use of his Branch of Sin. To compensate, he fell back on swordsmanship lessons he took as a child as a pure hobby, and finished the course to expert degree. With civilians being allowed to carry weapons too, it only makes the young man look more like a normal citizen instead of the deadman he now wishes he wasn't.
Other info
-Trey enjoys music and constantly carries his iPod and headphones everywhere.
-Trey is into exercise and tries to free-run as well as lift weights regularly.
