STORY

"During a particularly harsh winter in the year 1785, hysteria ran rampant in the town of Blair, Maryland. There have been many recent arrests of town women being accused of witchcraft. One of these women, Elly Kedward, the so-called "Blair Witch," was found guilty of witchcraft and was banished to the woods surrounding the small town. After several weeks the witch was presumed dead. It seemed as though the town had returned to normal until several children mysteriously disappeared. Rumors and speculation began to circulate linking Elly Kedward to the strange disappearances. The townsfolk conducted an exhaustive search of the woods surrounding Blair but neither the children nor the witch were ever found.

The town of Blair was renamed Burkitsville in the mid-1800's. The town had been relativly quiet. It is now the year 1886, a little over a hundred years since the happenings in that town, the town has been quiet with no trouble. But the Legend of the Blair witch remained in everyone's mind, some may call them supersticious but the Townsfolk refused to go into the woods at any means nesscary. Now in 1886 in the town of Burkitsville, we're in the midst of a civil war and a young girl living with her grandmother just outside Burkitsville finds a union solider. She brings the solider who has a open head wound on his head back to her Grandmothers house. Bess Weaver mends to the man, and when he wakes up he seems to have forgotten his memory.

Bess named the man Lazarus after the bible character. About a day after, Bess told Lazarus that Robin has gone missing into the woods. She believed that Lazarus was the only one who could find her grandchild, that a search party went into the woods but their were evil working in the woods. Bess warned Lazarus not to go near the water as their are Legends that the children and Blair witch can still be found in that river. Lazarus agreed to going into the woods reluctantly. The search party is set too begin going into the woods."

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Ok, this is just a few quick notes.

- The woods tends to get you turned around, so if you say something like "Runs back to where they were before." This wouldn't work in most cases as the woods shifts frequently.

- The main things that are in the woods are.. Twana's which are basically moving sticks.. Zombies, the whole zombie thing.. Zombie Dogs, again whole zombie thing.. and naturally the forests itself.

- Don't try and be a hero, if you've played any games from this trilogy you'll know that it won't work.

- View Forest layout here.

- Have fun.

Name: Jake Tyler
Age: 23
Appearance: Jake had short brown hair, which was the style back then. He had a match of brown eyes. He wore a casual pair of brown pants as well as a white button up shirt tucked in. Jake also wore a chair around his neck with a cross at the end. He had a fairly muscular build, but was more or less average for standards back in the 1800's.
Occupation: Search Party
Equipment: Pocket-Knife, Switchblade, Holy Cross.
Bio: Jake had lived in Burkitsville all his life, he'd heard the story's of the Blair Witch. Never really took a liking to them though, he always figured that they were just folktales told by the old people of the town and they passed it down to their kids. Jake's mother and father were killed after being shot by confederate soilders so Jake was now alone. He did have his aunt Bess Weaver but he didn't like going to her house, he always sensed that something wasn't right about Bess. But thought that Robin was like the sister he never had, naturally when she disapeared he was the first one to join the search party ran by Kyle Norcross.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake awoke in a cold sweat and lifted up from his bed in the small shack he now lived in. He turned on the light and breathed heavy shaking his head.

~Weird dream. I think all that talk about the Legend is getting too me.~ Jake thought and looks over onto the cabinent where his cross was. Jake looekd at it puzzled and said out loud. "I didn't leave this here? Did I?" Jake shook his head, thinking he was losing his mind. "Ah, I'm just tired." Jake settled down into the bed again looking up at the ceiling.

Jake heard some talking outside, some of the search party members no doupt. Jake attempted to go back to sleep but the noises outside made him cringe with curiousity. Jake lifted up out of his bed, grabbing his cross and heading towards the door.
