"Variety is reporting that a director has been attached to a French production of the popular French comic Blacksad. If you've ever read Blacksad (three volumes have been translated into English), this is very welcome news. If you haven't, picture a Disney-animated adaptation of your favorite noir film that sacrifices none of the darkness or maturity. It may have talking animals, but they're talking and acting like Chandler or Hammett wrote them.
The film is still looking for money and there's no word on what kind of animation style it'll utilize, but the director is none other than Louis (The Transporter) Leterrier. The film will be produced by Thomas (the Asterix movies) Langmann. "

If they fuck this up, I will probably end up killing someone.
