A change which was most likely be made because especially younger audiences in the west probably won't get the association cherry blossom = death/reaper that is intended in the japanese original.

That's why we now have Rose-Lord Marluxia, Lord Paramount of the Reach, Warden of of the South from House Tyrell...;P

I just figured it was because the rose color was more noticeable and visually appealing compared to light pink.

If Land of Departure could turn into Castle Oblivion, maybe Daybreak Town turned into the Land of Departure post-keyblade War. MAybe that world in particular has some sort of quality that makes it able to rebirth itself.

I dunno I'm a stark believer that the keyblade graveyard is Daybreak town, all the signs point to it. But it's possible that LoD was built by the remnants of the unions, after the foretellers were no more (thus no animal symbols) that survived the keyblade war. Accounting for things like vague similarities in architecture and possession of the oldest keyblade.

I'm not so sure those are clovers. Some are more obviously Hidden Mickeys, but I think the "clovers" you're seeing are mostly just there to both make the more obvious Hidden Mickeys look less out of place, and in imitation of Gothic traceries.

More specifically the trefoil style, though I do more often (both in KH and in real Gothic architecture) see the quatrefoil sort.

Trefoil and quatrefoil literally mean three-leaf(ed) and four-leaf(ed), it's an English word coming from Latin trifolium, so in the end it's definitely no mistake to associate it with the symbol of the clover. The shape can result from three circles overlapping, too, so it undeniably becomes a symbol of a trinity. Land of Departure is home of one of our main character trios so I wouldn't be surprised to see clovers aka trefoils being around. Also, for the design of the castle, I think it's ok to assume that really, they just wanted it to look cool > Gothic details are cool on buildings > the castle is a building > also the vibe of it matches > yes to trefoil. Yet some of the trefoils on the castle look waaay too much like Hidden Mickeys (normal or upside-down ones), so literally eraquS, you sly fox

The Dandelion is symbolic of the Dandelions, the group that left before the Keyblade War. The signature flower of Chi is the Dandelion, because of the Dandelions from that era. The whole reason for the Dandelion is most likely foreshadowing, as a Dandelion spreads seeds using the wind. It could be said that Ava is the Dandelion and the Dandelions are her seedlings, with Ephemera being the one that floats first having the others follow. The reason Luxu might be holding one is once again because, he does something similar to that of a Dandelion. Or for foreshadowing...Or because the seedlings mean a new beginning as shortly after the Dandelion dies.
