Seriously though, who'da thunk it? (yes, I said "thunk", not "think".) A planet bigger than Jupiter, and it floats on water. *throws water at the planet* HA, TAKE THAT.

And it's name SUCKS. HAT-P-1. OMFG NAME CHANGE FTW. GET 1000 POSTS PLANET!11

"'This new planet, if you could imagine putting it in a cosmic water glass, it would float,' said Robert Noyes, a research astrophysicist with the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory."

As would Saturn.

Bet you five bucks its cotton candy.

Anyways, this is interesting. Planet Puffy. But they are sure its a planet this time right?<<

Bet you ten it's a liquid metallic hydrogen layer above that, and a gaseous molecular hydrogen layer above that. :3

Interestingly enough, despite the publicity, the IAU put out a new classification system for objects in our universe. They reclassify Pluto as a dwarf planet. One category of three.

Planets:
~ Mercury
~ Venus
~ Earth
~ Mars
~ Jupiter
~ Saturn
~ Uranus
~ Neptune

Dwarf Planets:
~ Ceres
~ Pluto
~ Eris

SSSB's (Small solar system body):
~ Many, many. xD

Oh, and one more thing. There's a program on the web that allows you to navigate the known charted places in the galaxy. It's called Celestia, and I found it to be very fun to navigate. Honestly, it's easy to see why the consider astronomy such a humbling study. Here's the link to the Celestia website, where you can download the program: http://www.shatters.net/celestia/download.html

Thing is, our new definition for planet applies only to our solar system. The matter of extrasolar planets hasn't been touched yet.
