Best way to talk to your team-mates?

I really would like to start talking to my team-mates, and I feel like I would not be liked because I only speak/read/type in English.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach the subject? I was thinking of just being kind of blunt, but I felt it would be best to ask you guys!

There is no problem to talk in English to your team mates. The Japanese community is very friendly. Just give a simple greeting, maybe ask a few questions that you want, and wait for their reply.

But there is also the 50 character limit problem.

I think your teammates will even be excited to know that there's an English-speaking member in their party. Even though some of them might not be able to speak well, I can assure you they're good enough to engage in basic conversations.
