Questions…
1. Who or what has made the biggest influence on your beliefs about spiritual things?
My biggest influence? Defenitly the Catholic Church. For 13 years I went to Church, and every year it became less meaningful, because they gave me no reason to find any meaning.

2. Do you believe society has a negative or positive influence on what you believe? Why?
I don't believe that I have been affected by societies way of thinking, belief wise. Or, that's what I would like to think. But every time I hear "I just thank god [blah blah blah]", it makes me chuckle, and have less faith in "Him".

3. What are some of your beliefs that affect the way you live?
I am trying to be a Humanist, and live my life as best and honestly as I can, not to serve a higher being, but to serve myself and society.

4. What are some of the beliefs of your parents that you agree with or disagree with?
I come from a very Catholic/Christian family, my uncle being a Priest and my cousin a Minister-trainee. They believe that we were created by God and that we are here waiting for something much greater.

5. How do your friends’ beliefs affect you?
This is where I contradict myself. I have no problem telling anyone else about it, but whenever I'm around close friends, I don't like bringing up my atheism. They all believe in God and what not, and it's hard having no other friends with the same beliefs. It makes me wish I had a faith, so badly.

6. Do your beliefs ever change? When and why?

For the longest time, I've been a devote Catholic. But then reality hit me, and everything just kind of fell into place, I realized things about everything around me, and I totally stopped believing in anything God-like.

7. What would you say you base most of your beliefs on? (I.e. Friends, family, teachers, society, music, Bible)

Most of my beliefs are based on personal experience, and guidance of people who are much wiser than I.

8. Do you believe there are set standards or guidelines that we are all supposed to live by? Explain.

Sort of. I'm not a true-humanist. I don't really like the idea of any way of living, but I am going to try to be the best person I can be on my while on Earth.

9. Do you believe in absolute truth that applies to everyone? Why or why not? Give some examples.
I'm sorry, I don't understand the question.

10. Are there any beliefs of our society that you believe to be lies?

I believe we are not one nation under God, but one nation under stars and galaxies and much more than that. I've been told to live like God would have wanted me to, but who the hell knows what God would have wanted us to live like, had he been real?

1. Do you have guidelines in your life, and what are they?

I roll with whatever is going on. But I try to do my best as a person at whatever I'm doing. Follow?

2. How often do you attend religious events? Do you like it? Who influences you to go? I attend Religious events almost once in a blue moon, nowadays. I attend church on Easter and Christmas with my family, and every now and then when I'm staying with my cousins, but I find it to be a chore rather than a religious experience, which is another reason why I don't feel that I have a connection with any higher being.

3. When you choosing friends, do you choose by interest or moral values?
I hardly believe in the sort of morality that others do, so I would say interest.

4. At what age do you think that you’re morally responsible?
Morality in itself is a hard subject to discuss, so I couldn't possibly tell you what age to start acting "morally responsible", if there is one.

5. Is there a moral issue that you would take a stand for in your life? What is it?

There are many. One is swearing. I don't think that words, like when you slam your hand and yell "****" should be taken as offensive. I'm offended that I am yelled at for being offensive because I said a WORD. Ridiculous.

6. Is there an authoritative figure in your life?
Two, My mums and my pops. I keep them in line though. I tell them how it is and stuff, it's a good system.

7. Where do you draw your motivation from?

I draw my motivation from a sever lack of ambition and talent.

8. How confident are you in your religious beliefs?
Extremely confident. I believe that when I lay my big old corpse to rest, that I'll be gone forever, never seen again, not in an afterlife or anything. So your goodbye better be pretty damn good!

9. Do you like your life? Explain… tell me about it.

Not in the least bit. But you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who does. I don't believe in a god for the soul reason that most people do; I'm scared of not seeing the people I loved who have died ever again, so I want to believe that there is a magical place where people with wings float around and show you people that you cared about that never really disappeared, but moved! I don't like that. I want to be so naive that I believe in an afterlife. Ah, well, I guess a lot of people have it worse than me. But, here's why I think I have it rough.
My mom has MS, so she's always crazy. She's tried to leave us, twice actually, but came back. Once, she asked me to go with her. I couldn't think of an answer, and that's the worst I've ever felt in my life. So I decided to run away. Everyone watched me run out the front door, and run down the street. The only person who I saw running after me was my brother Andrew. He left two years ago, and I've only seen him once in the past year. We shared a room for 13 years or so. I love aj, I've cried, wondering where he's at right now, and if he's ok, and how he's doing. Again; I love him, but he's a tool.
I also am a scronny, cynical pasty kid with too much time on his hands.
There's a lot more, but I'm running short on time.

10. Do you ever feel like there is something missing in your life?

Every minute of everyday. I cannot help but think that I am missing something.

11. What would you die for?

White Castle Burgers, My skateboard, AJ, my sketchbook/notebook.

12. Who are the 3 most important people in your life?

My brother andrew is one of them. Another is my friend Michelle, because she always puts me in a good mood.
Travis and Tyler are a package deal, my best friends.

13. How would you explain love?

I'll quote an excerpt from a book
"Explain God, and only then can you begin to explain love".
I think that this means, Love is so extravigant, it is the true higher being. But I could be wrong.

14. What do you think happens when you die?
You die?

15. Do your morals change according to your situation?

Nope.

16. How do you feel about church?
Deeply uncomfortable. I don't like what it stands for, and I don't like what they do.

What is the basis of your beliefs?

Questions…
1. Who or what has made the biggest influence on your beliefs about spiritual things?
My family,
they just had to shove every piece of religious belief that they believed it- that when I was 10 [after my first communion] I had stopped going to church. Because I was getting sick and tired of all of the religion stuff, that I just got sick of it and gave up [basically I stopped believing]

2. Do you believe society has a negative or positive influence on what you believe? Why?
Of course,
most of the people I know aren't believers. So of course I'm going to go along with what they say when I hang around them.

3. What are some of your beliefs that affect the way you live?

My beliefs don't affect the way I live at all.
I believe there is a God but I just don't follow any certain belief.
However, when people ask me what religion I am- that's a big throw off.
I was raised to be Catholic but, I don't believe in most of the religion itself.

4. What are some of the beliefs of your parents that you agree with or disagree with?
Many, my stepfather is full on Christrian and my mother is very Catholic.
They both believe Homosexuality is wrong, but-
I don't- oh, I can't wait to see their faces when I tell them I'm bi.
They'll literally disown me. But they're pricks. They believe that no one can judge them but God. However they judge gay people all the time. And that just gets on my nerves.

5. How do your friends’ beliefs affect you?
They don't, at all. Because most of my friends have the same beliefs that I do [believeing there is a God, but they're just not religious.] But I have had instances were some of my very religious friends haven't been able to hang out with me on certain days because they have to got to church.

6. Do your beliefs ever change? When and why?
Yes, when I was younger I used to believe in God, and I was full on Catholic until I grew up. I started to question if God loved us, because of all the violence in the world. I started seeing things differently, After my parents divorce I stopped believing at all in God. I've even said he wasn't real. However now, I know there is a God, I just 90% won't believe there is until I see a miracle happen.

7. What would you say you base most of your beliefs on? (I.e. Friends, family, teachers, society, music, Bible)

Well, first it was my family and catholic school that I attended in Elementary school. Until I grew up, I stopped believing and now my current beliefs about not believing the bases are within myself.

8. Do you believe there are set standards or guidelines that we are all supposed to live by? Explain.
No, life is perfect the way it is now.

9. Do you believe in absolute truth that applies to everyone? Why or why not? Give some examples.
No, in reality there's nothing for us out there based on religion.
Because if you look at it, all religions are the same. Like Jehova's Witness, all they do is try to hypnotized to make you believe about all the BS some guy said.

10. Are there any beliefs of our society that you believe to be lies?

Yes, many:
"We're all equal"
BS. Nobody sees it that way, many people are pricks. Heck, a fat chick isn't going to be treated the same way as a beautiful model.

"One Nation Under God"
Well, knowing that the US is one of the most diverse countries. We have Buddhsist temples, churches, and Scientologists houses, and even the Anti-Christ church of Adam Levon [?].... People claim that they are so many Gods out there, that who really knows. I think Religion is made up BS to give people high hopes.

More Questions…
1. Do you have guidelines in your life, and what are they?
Yes,
I have to be as realistic as I can.
No matter how mean I critic, I just have to do it.
I've been called a b*ch over a million times. That tells me one thing, I'm giving people a dose of reality.

2. How often do you attend religious events? Do you like it? Who influences you to go?

I don't, not interesting in going.

3. When you choosing friends, do you choose by interest or moral values?

Interest.
**** moral values, that's ones own personal choice and I'm not even gonna bother with that. If they want to go hunt whale, let them. It's what they like, so why bother?
Yes, it's wrong- but it makes them happy.

4. At what age do you think that you’re morally responsible?

When you're old enough to understand life.

5. Is there a moral issue that you would take a stand for in your life? What is it?
Freedom of Speech.
OMG, why the hell is the US's first admen med Freedom of Speech is people are scared to speak out.
I speak my mind, everybody should do the same.
Let's say this one girl broke her nail.
girl: OMG I BROKE MY NAIL!!!!
Me: I don't give a sh*t, don't you see there's people dying out there of war and you're here bitch*ng about your nail?!?!- go get a ****ing life, man.
People need to stop whining about the small things and see that we in the US have it lucky.I hate it when people get all butthurt when I tell them the truth.

6. Is there an authoritative figure in your life?
No. simple as that. I've always had a mother, but it's always constant arguing when were in the same room. And as for a dad figure, my real dad has been out of the picture for 8 yrs.
And no, I don't have a superhero, if that's what your asking.

7. Where do you draw your motivation from?
BAND![music] and my friends. I love both to death. They make me happy, and Band ACTUALLY gives me a reason to live.

8. How confident are you in your religious beliefs?
Very confident [only because I'm a non-believer] Until I see a miracle happen, then I will be proven wrong.

9. Do you like your life? Explain… tell me about it.
Hell no,
Overall I hate it.
I got cheating g/f's a family that I don't get along with. A drug problem I still struggle till today [even though I'm clean] I still risk temptation. I hate school, I don't know what I'm going to do with my life when I graduate HS, if I graduate HS. The only reason why I'm still living is because of music, it keeps me going.

10. Do you ever feel like there is something missing in your life?

Yes, a family.
I do have a family, but they all whine about me .
They all accuse me of a drug dealer and a whore.
I tell them all the time, all of what I did before was in the past.
There's no reason why they should live in it. I'm not allowed to go to any of my aunt's houses because of it. So what if I lost my virginity at 15? Heck, It's not like they haven't popped out kids already. The only difference between me and other girls is that I don't get pregnant, and can't [for medical issues] so I have an advantage. I even told my aunts this; Sex feels good <-everybody knows that. Everybody in my family is all stuck up and sh*t. It's not like their kids are going to grow up anytime soon.

11. What would you die for?
Nothing.
Nothing lasts forever so why bother dying for something?

12. Who are the 3 most important people in your life?

My best friend- Yvette. She's been with me throughout my rough times.
My band teacher [from any school]- I live and breathe to music. So without a band director, the band falls apart.
I don't have a 3rd.

13. How would you explain love?

When someone cares for you and is there 100% of the time on the rough and happy moments of life.
However, that's merely impossible, because I really don't believe in it, a whole bunch of BS I say.

14. What do you think happens when you die?

Our bodies may die, but our souls live on forever.
I don't believe in heaven or hell. So our souls just leave our body and wander around for eternity until we find our peace.

15. Do your morals change according to your situation?
Well, the one I'm always going to believe is killing another human. So that's always wrong.
And about when one commits suicide, it's wrong.
No it's not- it's ones own choice. Let them die if they want to. However, if they threatened to commit suicided in front of me- I will stop them [try to atleast]Because it's just terrifying seeing someone else die infront of you.

16. How do you feel about church?

It's just another building with statues on it.

in other news...... i have returned to the forums if anyone cares, haha.
welcome back!

I am not sure if this only applies to Christian as you mention church but hey I guess my post will add diversity to the topic.
1. Who or what has made the biggest influence on your beliefs about spiritual things?
The people around me, Friends parents, teachers, etc.
2. Do you believe society has a negative or positive influence on what you believe? Why?
Positive as it only reinforces
3. What are some of your beliefs that affect the way you live?
I try maintain a constant "think before you speak attitude" about everything as I know it will dictate my rebirth. It also has me not explaining unimportant anything to anyone because ultimately nothing really matters if you are to achieve perfection.
4. What are some of the beliefs of your parents that you agree with or disagree with?
The bible cannot be true, it was written around 1600 years ago by the Roman council of Nicea. There is no just god.
5. How do your friends’ beliefs affect you?
Not at all, only their actions support my beliefs.
6. Do your beliefs ever change? When and why?
Sometimes, believing that the ultimate perfection is not to exist at all is hard, so I will deviate at times since it is hard to go against all you have been thought.
7. What would you say you base most of your beliefs on? (I.e. Friends, family, teachers, society, music, Bible)
Society, Buddhism, Science.
8. Do you believe there are set standards or guidelines that we are all supposed to live by? Explain.
None other then your actions towards achieving perfection. If you don't you will only be born again. If you seek death before you are ready you are born again.
9. Do you believe in absolute truth that applies to everyone? Why or why not? Give some examples.
All are marked by the exult ones before birth so that death can dictate his judgment and if your rebirth in to occur.
10. Are there any beliefs of our society that you believe to be lies?
They all are. They teach of truth, truth is nothing. There is not truth it is an illusion painted by man.
More Questions…
1. Do you have guidelines in your life, and what are they?
If you strive to become perfect, in there in nothing, then you will be liberated by the exult ones until then you will suffer through life.
2. How often do you attend religious events? Do you like it? Who influences you to go?
I don't go to religious events.
3. When you choosing friends, do you choose by interest or moral values?
Interests, morals are again painted only by man in his need to confine himself as to feel more comfortable in the chaos of existence.
4. At what age do you think that you’re morally responsible?
The age when you understand the concepts of this world and how you are to function within them.
5. Is there a moral issue that you would take a stand for in your life? What is it?
The stand against capitalism, it breeds naught but hate and greed.
6. Is there an authoritative figure in your life?
My parents?
7. Where do you draw your motivation from?
Self criticism, failure, the success of others
8. How confident are you in your religious beliefs?
They are the only truth as all else is a lie spun by man.
9. Do you like your life? Explain… tell me about it.
I have all I could ever want, a loving family, s good education, a comfortable life yet I am not what most would consider happy. I have a hard time understanding why no one seems to like me for who I am not what I have or can do. For this I have come to peace that there is nothing that is true and to want is ultimately wrong.
10. Do you ever feel like there is something missing in your life?
To be accepted among others for just who I am, not who I can be or was. some one to truly care.
11. What would you die for?
To do something worth while for man as they are already condemned to an eternity within the hell that they have created for themselves.
12. Who are the 3 most important people in your life?
13. How would you explain love?
14. What do you think happens when you die?
you face Death: the harbinger of mortality, the liberator, the condemner.
He decides according to your actions if you are to be liberated from existence or if you will be condemned to rebirth. after his decision you may be either omitted from existing, and there in liberated, or you are born anew to repeat the cycle.
15. Do your morals change according to your situation?
They can if am stressed or in a state of a weakened conscience as a human mind is designed to revert to things that are ingrained as true when under certain situations. Mostly when others ask what I believe as I know that what I believe in is never going to be accepted so I must spin a lie to questioned or rejected further.
16. How do you feel about church?
As long as it gives people hope do what you wish. It is not the intent or the practice I oppose, only what they teach.

He said that this was for any religion, note that I said I had none, hence me mentioning my atheistic ways.

From what I read here, I could totally make a project on how attempting to convert others is counter-productive.

1. Who or what has made the biggest influence on your beliefs about spiritual things?
Well, probably my family. They raised me in a semi-religious environment. But for the most part I just rely on my own sense.
2. Do you believe society has a negative or positive influence on what you believe? Why?
Both. Sometimes, we do really stupid things, and sometimes we do some really good things.
3. What are some of your beliefs that affect the way you live?
I believe in equality; I also believe in the lasting effects of comedy and love -- but not usually together... or are they?
4. What are some of the beliefs of your parents that you agree with or disagree with?
My parents are very open-minded; I agree with that.
5. How do your friends’ beliefs affect you?
Not by much; again, I mostly just use my own sense to deduce right from wrong, beliefs, etc.
6. Do your beliefs ever change? When and why?
All the time. I'm only human, after all.
7. What would you say you base most of your beliefs on? (I.e. Friends, family, teachers, society, music, Bible)
Experience, and what I see going on in the world.
8. Do you believe there are set standards or guidelines that we are all supposed to live by? Explain.
No, I do not; I believe that everyone should strive to better the world, but no one should have a strict set of guidelines regarding morality or religion. In terms of politics (the Constitution, Articles of Confederation, etc.), then sure, I can see the point there.
9. Do you believe in absolute truth that applies to everyone? Why or why not? Give some examples.
Eh. [/sarcasm]
10. Are there any beliefs of our society that you believe to be lies?
That's a tricky question. I'll have to say no comment, because it's hard to tell someone that their beliefs are wrong, because that's just what they are: beliefs.
