I need some help with Beatmania US. I've had it for a bit, and I'm enjoying it A LOT, but I can barely pass most IIDX songs. Beatmania, I have down fine. Most of the songs I can pass (I can't pass over star levels six). IIDX is different. The more keys makes my brain hurt (TOO MANY KEYS!! !1!1! >_<), but I wanna get better at IIDX because the song selection is better (V DAMNIT. DJ TAKA > HAPPINESS [I just wish they put Tommorow Perfume on Beatmania US though. ;-;]).

Questions:

For keys, do you play with two hands? I've been playing with one hand on the turntable and one on the keyboard and I'm doing okay.

What are some good practice tips?

You have IIDX RED at your local arcade... and you suck at IIDX. (lol irony -.-)

Srysly, when I started, I used the pinky-scratch technique. You use two hands to hit the 7 keys (use your thumbs too... don't be like me and have to learn thumbs when youre already at 7key) and when the turntable noete comes, you use your left pinky to scratch. But it'll be harder... US version controllers are stiff...

And tomorrow perfume is the BG music in 7th style.

I agree. The controllers are... Well, it would be more pleasant if the turntable was a bit more responsive, but alas, I do not have the luxury of a foreign controller.

The pinky scratch thing is kinda odd, but I'll give it a try.

And when you mean an equivlent, do you mean like a PC simulator with downloadable simfiles? If so, there are, but all of them suck, there are no offical songs to download, it uses a 5th style skin (ewww) and it's in Japanese. You'll be happier if you imported.

lol actually, rythem-IT is a great emulator for that, when i find it i'll edit my post, but you can download BMS files (the files that the emulator uses) for every mix with the exact charts and stuff from a site, can't tell you what it is unless you're intrested. so if you want that stuff, PM me.
