When I first heard about it I thought they were not going to follow the series and was relieved because there'd be nothing to really live up to, but by doing this it's too hard not to fail.

From just seeing Zuko, I know this movie is doomed
This is going to suck. And my sister is actually going to be in this movie.
She is one of the south pole tribe people. She'd tryed out at PA a couple of month ago and she got the part.
I don't think she knew what part she got at the time. It was just a tryout at the time.

Wow. This movie is going to fail. Epically.
Who knows. It might be good. Let's wait until we actually get to see the full preview tomorrow.
Well, to reply to an earlier comment, Night has seen the series, and according to interviews he and his family are big fans of Avatar. Considering he basically volunteered to direct, I'm pretty sure he has seen the show.
I agree with what a lot of people are saying: the casting sucks.
First of all, race is a major part of the Avatar world. The water tribe members are meant to look like real live eskimos (skin color, facial features, etc) and I would venture to say that racially, Zuko and the people of the Fire nation are meant to look like Japanese people (pale skin, Asian features). However they screwed it up! they cast white people for the roles of Katara and Sokka, and a tan dude for Zuko!
Oh and Aang was supposed to be asian...come on man...he's a monk!...and there was a video on youtube for a kid who would have been PERFECT as Aang. Not only was he the right race and age, but he was also a friggin' beast at martial arts. Here's the link:

Anyways, I hate Patel for Zuko (I mean why didn't they just use Zuko's voice actor, Dante Basco? he LOOKS like Zuko! and with a bit of training he'd have the martial arts down)

Sokka is being played by Jackson Rathbone! Not what I expected but I think he could do a good job?

The director must be blind then, seriously.. there where probably many other people who qualified for the role of Zuko.. [I don't know anything about celebrities so don't ask me who.] but cmon!! That guy just looks..! How is that anything close to Zuko?!!
A director with a declining quality of output, and a pretty mediocre cast list. This movie is going to be relying pretty heavily on fan base for it not to bomb.
It's very hard to find a cast for these type of movies. The actors needed are picked based mainly on ability and not by means of a look-alike contest :/
Sure the cast isn't perfect but don't write it completely off before you even see more.
