Kazuma nodded as he saw the skilled and very "tidy" assassin emerge from nearly no where and tell them to follow. Now that was the type of work he needed, not this flashy stuff but beggars can't be choosers. The two others seemed to have complied so Kazuma pointed in the direction of the alley. "We're following our new friend here. Looks like we have an escort." Kazuma muttered with a smirk as he shrugged. He motioned for the other two to come with him. The boy with the girl in his arms and the other girl who was bent on keeping an eye on him.

Kazuma was behind the man as they went through the allies avoiding any kind of police force. From the corner of his eye Kazuma saw a knife with a bluish glow come from the right. It had barely missed his nose when he let it pass him by and caught it. With one quick motion he sent the dagger back to the source with silence making sure to catch him in the throat to muffle any kind of squeal. Kazuma searched the policeman's body for a communicator and overheard some messages about the group. "I saw them heading down the eastern wall. They wounded a few of our own." Kazuma said into the device giving out false information. He suspected that they'd probably try to pin point the location of the signal so he came up with an idea. The train happened to be passing by over head, he had to time it right. With one good toss he managed to hook the device into the train as it passed them by. The sirens were getting softer and softer while the lights were getting dimmer and dimmer. "That outta by us some time." he reassured.

He dragged the body behind a few dumpsters and sighed. He covered the man's body lifted his hand in the air with the intention to scorch it beyond recognition...but..."...Guy probably had a family he was gonna go back to..." Kazuma muttered lowering his hand. He then rejoined the others and awaited further instructions.

The blazing sun washed over the large fishing boat as it cut through the salty waves. Multiple men scurried along the deck pulling up nets and pushing the fish into a large hole in the center of the boat. The hole was filled with saltwater in order to keep the fish alive, keeping them fresh for when the would be sold in the market of the next town. Some men needed to use a large crane to pull the nets out of the peaceful waters; others used teamwork to retrieve the nets. Only one elderly man pulled a net up by himself, using brute strength to pull the large net up and onto the boat. He opened it and the fish fell into the center hole of the boat.

"Zen! Zen!" Shouted a young sailor as he ran down the stairs from the Galley. The old man turned, unsure of who was calling him and smiled as his eyes fell upon the man. The young man slipped and fell into the pool of fish. "Zen!" He shouted as his head broke the surface of the water. The fish surrounded him and then scattered about frightened of what he might do to them. The old man pulled him out of the water with one hand, laughing.

"You really need to be careful of the fish slime on the floor Toru!" laughed Zen as he plucked a fish from Toru's hair and threw it into the center pool. Toru wrung out the water that had soaked into his clothing and laughed along with Zen. "Now then what was it you came so frantically to tell me?" Toru pointed to the other side of the boat and ran, almost slipping again, to the railing. Zen followed and saw what he had pointed to before.

A large island grew bigger and bigger as the ship grew closer. It was the next stop of the ship, Ember Islands. "You told me to inform you when we were near..." Toru said. Zen nodded and smiled at the boy, giving him a pat on his back. Toru looked back out onto the island and sighed, "Ember Islands... Have you been here before sir?"

"No, this shall be my first time visiting," Zen replied in somewhat of a daze. "My mother once wrote in a book, however, that it was one of the loveliest places on the planet... That was before they reformed everything though..." He tilted his head towards Toru and smiled, snapping out of his daze. Toru smiled in return and let out an 'oh' as the boat docked. He stuck his hand into his pocket, pulled out a coin and handed it to Zen. "What is this?" Zen asked turning it in his hands.

"It's for all the troubles I've given you..." Toru said chuckling slightly. "You saved my skin many a time... It's just a form of my thanks..."

Zen laughed and placed the coin back into Toru's hand. "That's what friends are for Toru!" They both laughed. Zen shook Toru's hand and watched as the young sailor made his way into the market. He would miss the boy but it wasn't the first time he was parting with a dear friend. Gumpto... Jizo... He thought and allowed a sigh to escape his lips.

"BAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! They don't make the damn drinks like they used to here. I'll pay when you can give me a decent brew, for now, I'm going to see what that new ships have brought into port. Perhaps they have some sort of exported tea or something. Or at least some fresh faces to talk to..."

The old man picked himself up off the stool in the bar that he frequented so often and made his way to the door as the young bartender who had just served him shook his head and wrote another drink onto the old man's already lengthy tab. Staggering just a little bit, Yasei pulled himself into the blinding sunlight, blinking and tearing up at the sudden rays. Yawning he pushed himself out the door and began lurching towards the docks. As he moved along all sorts of people waved at him or called his name, though for the most part he ignored the onslaught of the people he knew all too well.

"Yeah..hey...good seeing you...yeah...uh-huh...great...bloody move damn it!" His anger caused him to push through the crowd a little more visciously and he eventually hit a police officer who, after getting up with a shout of annoyance, grabbed his shoulder tightly.

"Watch where you're going you old....ah..ah...ahhhhhh!" His complaint was cut off as the older man grabbed the younger's hand and held it in an iron vice. "Ohhh, Yasei, I'm sorry, I didn't...know...um...yeah..." The officer scurried off. The majority of people on the island knew not to bother Yasei when he was drunk, in a mood, or wanted to be alone which was nearly all the time. His strength and iron will made him a terrible enemy.

Finally arriving at the docks, the old man identified the newest ship in port and headed towards it in a lumbering gait. Finally getting close enough to recognize the equipment on board, he stopped just within ear shot of the crew and people around the boat. "Eh, yet another damn fishing boat. I was expecting something entertaining."

But then something caught his eye. A man not far younger than himself was standing to the side of the boat, dressed in an unfamiliar garb. With the general idea of hospitality to the elderly like himself, Yasei moved to the man. "Ahoy, what brings such a stranger to my island?"

It was no use wasting time thinking about his old friends. They were gone and all he could hope was to either set them free if they were captured or meet with them once again. The islands awaited him and he could not pass up an opportunity to see the beautiful islands. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, taking in the scents of the resort. Almost immediately his nose cringed and his eyes burst open. The foul stench of liquor, rice liquor to be exact, had wafted through his nostrils. He looked about and saw the source of the smell to be an elderly man, obviously drunk, walking towards him.

The man greeted him, which Zen found to be quite courteous of him and bowed out of respect. "How do you do?" He replied, rising from his bow. "Your island?" Zen laughed and adjusted the gourd upon his back. "It is an honor to meet you Fire Lord..." His voice was drenched in sarcasm. The owner of Ember Islands surely was not this drunken man. He laughed and gestured to the street. "You seem like good company. How about we go and find a tea shop on me!"

He stepped into the street and turned back to the man. "On we go! Lead the way!"

Lian watched with further approval as Kazuma quickly dispatched a nearby guard as well as tossing his communicator onto a nearby train, which was just passing overhead, rattling loudly as it went. As he walked back toward them, she could see he had a slightly troubled look on his face.

Lian thought that there would be no prizes for guessing what he was thinking of, as she glanced at the dead body of the guard. Kazuma had only done what was necessary, but she supposed she could understand his feelings. As she moved further down the alley and away from the body, she spoke softly to all of them.

"We'd better get out of here now, despite Kazuma's trick with the communicator, other guards will undoubtedly be here soon, looking for their comrade."

Sunshine smiled upon the island, trees glowed a healthy green, the sand shined an odd golden color, it even seemed the locals were a bit brighter today. The sun glowered over the tall trees, the light peaked past the leaves and shone on a woman, she sat at the edge of a porch, her legs dangled freely; her bare feet tickled with warmth. She wore causal clothing perfect for the occasion, a simple red bikini showing off her robust figure, it wasn't her idea; they had sent her here so she could have some relaxation. She didn't like it, but what the hey.

With a sigh, she leaned back and plopped her back against the hot porch, "This place is boring.." She muttered aloud, looking up she peered inside the doorway behind her, an elderly woman merely smiled, but the smile was hollow and fake as if she was paid to do so (I wouldn't be surprised if she was), "My dear, go out and enjoy yourself, there is no need to overwork yourself."

Her voice was robotic and listless, she didn't mean that, but what could she do; she was stuck baby sitting Kiyoshi even though she hadn't asked. Bringing herself up right again she shrugged, her black hair was tied in a single ponytail, with ends of her hair spiking up in all directions; it seemed her hair was as sharp as a sword. Standing up she tied a crimson shirt around her stomach, directly underneath her breasts, "I suppose you have a point." A lie, but she didn't want to be forced to have fun.

Stepping down the porch she left, the hot ground hadn't bothered her at all, in fact she enjoyed it. Ignoring calls and stares from men, she found an odd place. A dock. How had she gotten there.

Mentally cursing herself for her absentmindedness, she trudged on, "Hey there baby, how about you and me go out in the crystal blue sea for a little fun under the sea?" A leech had clamped on her shoulder, groping her tanned arm, slowly he tried to make his way to her chest, but she wouldn't have this. Other guys around the duo backed away slowly, laughing nervously, it seemed this man didn't know who she was.

Shame.

Sliding her foot back, it crashed into his, he lurched forward intent on falling face first, but he wouldn't get away that easily. She brought her knee up and slammed it against his chest as he fell, recoiling back she jabbed his ribs with her elbow, pivoting she punched him right in the chest, turning to the right she clocked him right in the chin, crouching slightly she swung her left leg and as it slammed into the man's face the crowd harmonious cried, 'Ohhh!'. He crashed to the floor, she spun slightly bringing her bare foot she slammed in on his chest, using it as a foot rest, kneeling down she brought her face to his, "I would avoid doing that again mister."

Stepping off the gentlemen she fixed her shirt and headed towards the end of the dock, hopefully that would be enough surprises for one day.

Hina's conversation with the interesting fire bender was cut short by the loud crack of gun fire. At first her body locked up in fear, her mind becoming incapable of rational thought. Instead, her mind whirled in confusion. What!? Gunfire!? Who!? What!? Where!? I have to get out of here! She grasped her head as a throbbing pain invaded her skull, bringing her to her knees. Images began flashing through her head, memories of that day...

"Tell us where the avatar is, or you'll end up like this fool!" An imposing man waved a gun at a body on the ground, Hina's father. Her mother was being held by two other men. She simply stood there without a word, staring at the man. "Fine then, I see how it is..." From the shed in the back of the house all Hina could hear was another gunshot. Next thing she knew her home was set ablaze. Slowly, she stepped out of the shed, tears streaming down her face as she watched the house burn to the ground before her eyes. After that she doesn't remember anything, even though it was her that had killed the men who ruined her life, she was not conscious of it.

A few minutes later she woke up with a yelp. After getting herself to stop breathing fast she stood to her feet. " I thought I was over this..." she sighed, walking back to her home. The building wasn't far from her current location, so getting there didn't take long. Opening the door to her apartment she yawned and flopped on her bed. Before falling asleep she took the crystal necklace from her neck and placed it on her dresser.

"On you, you say? Well, if that's the case, we're headed to the finest shop on the whole island." He turned to the slightly younger man and gave a giant grin. "I may even be able to get us a discount..." Then the old man chuckled, seemingly at a joke known to him alone.

"By the way, did you call me Fire Lord? That's a funny joke if yet I've heard one!" He was now roaring with laughter, almost to the point of hysterics. Then his contracted features smoothed and hardened at the sound of what might be physical conflict. For his age, Yasei was incredibly in tune with his senses, especially after years of learning the signs of a coming attack by the empire's grunts. It sounded like a one-on-one kind of battle, and fairly uneven at that. Then, just as quickly as the sounds started, all was quiet except for the oohs of the crowd and the howling of a man in pain. The old man shook his head.

"One moment my new friend, it seems we may have to deal with some trouble." Yasei moved past Zen and headed towards the direction of the conflict. As he came around the side of the ship that blocked his view, he saw a young woman, probably about 1/3 his age, moving towards the end of a nearby dock.

"Excuse me, girl! Do happen to know what just happened to that man?" He shouted, pointing to the visibly beaten down schmuck lying nearby.

This man was obviously quite drunk but oddly held a friendly air. Zen smiled as the man laughed crazily at his silly little joke. The Fire Lord had been 'extinct' ever since a couple years before the ban on any and all bending. The Fire Nation was taken over by a nameless man. Most called him 'Hong Se' but his real name has never been revealed. Zen sighed as a mans howling reached his ears. He nodded as Yasei walked towards the other end of the dock. He himself walked over to the howling man and helped him up.

"I think it would be best to see a doctor young man," he stated flashing a toothy smile at the man. "And next time mind your manners and your tongue!" Zen handed him off to another man and made his way over to Yasei and the female at the end of the docks. He'd heard most of the mans conversation with the girl and felt absolutely no pity for him. He deserved it for acting so stupidly towards a young woman. "Kid's these days!" Zen said as he stopped beside Yasei.

The sun was inching closer to the horizon but they still had a long day ahead of them. In fact they had enough time to find some tea; that is if this little conversation didn't take too long. The old man smiled at the young girl waiting for her to answer Yasei's question and adjusting the water filled gourd on his back.

Great, now there were two old men following her. Reluctantly she turned to face the gentlemen, her slender legs arced slightly; ready to pounce if necessary. But as she turned she noticed these two were.. Different. She barely recognized the more... animated old man, but the other had a different sense of air about him, but they don't seem to be threatening her. But still it was good to be on guard, after all, she was a girl of 20, and there were two older gentlemen approaching her, in her mind this was what she called 'Anything but good, but then again it'll give me a chance to whoop some as-'

"Excuse me girl!" Interrupting her train of thought, "Do you happen to know what just happened to that man?" Gesturing towards the moron she had just beaten down moments ago, she shrugged and shot the poor man a smug smirk, "It's just how you see it sir, that man just happened to fall flat on his butt after rudely touching me." Crossing her arms she glared at the man who cowered under her gaze, he ran off in a hasty matter.

"But the better question is, who exactly are you guys?" She had recognized the first one, but he seemed to be in one of his moods and feigned obliviousness around Kiyoshi, it was odd but he has done this before. The other man was a mystery, too bad she could care less about him; she just wanted to leave.

Lian carefully took the unconscious girl from Lupis' arms as she listened for the sound of any approaching guards. She could hear the shouts and leers from the nearby market, the clashing of a hammer as it struck metal and faintly, just barely audible under all the ordinary sounds of the Lower Ring, the sound of approaching footsteps.

"We have to move from here. Come on!"

Lian gestured toward Kazuma that he should take point before spurring herself into a jog, moving quickly away from the approaching guards.

Zen laughed. The girls response was humorous at best and filled to the brim with sarcasm. His smile reached his eyes as he waved to the woman, preparing an introduction. "Hello," He began in his friendliest tone. "I just arrived here on that fishing boat-" He pointed, "- and I was about to have some tea with... the Fire Lord here." Since Yasei had not given him a name the only way for Zen to refer to him was as Fire Lord. "My name is Zen Mikami, traveling geezer! and you are?"

He made sure to keep his introduction short and to the point. Most people that he'd met usually had plenty of time to listen to him speak. Then again most people he spoke to were fisherman on a boat waiting to dock meaning they had time. He sighed and extended his hand to the female. A loud mechanical sound echoed from behind the pair causing Zen to pull his hand away and turn around quickly. It was a too familiar sound. One he'd heard many times but never did he let them come close to him. No bender could afford to. It was a police hovercar and it was descending at the end of the dock.

As it touched the ground men in all black uniforms jumped out and began to speak to the people there. Zen smiled nervously and turned around to face the female. He could hear the footsteps of the police getting closer, stopping momentarily to speak to a couple of the fishermen. "We heard there was a commotion over here..." one of them said. The fisherman feigned stupidity, most people did, and shook his head. They left him and finally reached the two old men and the young girl. The man who had spoken before reached out and tapped Zen on the shoulder. "Excuse me old man but we heard there was some sort of commotion nearby?"

Zen turned around and smiled. (He liked to smile.) "I just arrived here on that boat young man..." He pointed to the boat and continued. "But I believe I saw a man run off in that direction..." He pointed in the direction that the man had run off. The officers nodded to each other, eyed Zen suspiciously, looked at Yasei and Kiyoshi, and bid them a good day. The look of astonishment as they saw Yasei and Kiyoshi with Zen probably rid them of any suspicions.

As they left Zen let out a sigh and turned back to Kiyoshi, relief washing over him. "You must be quite famous around here... Then again the Fire lord here can get us out of anything correct?"

Seeing Lian take the unconscious girl and the other boy staying back to handle their pursuers he decided he'd lead the way to the meeting point. More officers appeared from around corners and second alleys but he quickly disarmed and knocked them out with his bending. He stopped jogging now and was now walking. They were getting closer and closer to the city square where is was very populated. Running would make them look to obvious. Kazuma turned to Lian and smiled, "Alright...I think we'll be alright for now. We just have to lay low until we get past all these people. Hand her over, I'll put her on my back. Hopefully she'll look sound asleep and not knocked out cold." he said tucking the girl on his back. She was pretty light. "If anyone asks...she's your sister, alright?" he finished looking back at Lian. They were not in the middle of the crowd just yet but a couple of yards and they'd blend in just fine.

"Kiyoshi Hayato." She said quickly with an uninterested tone, she turned around quickly; her hair swayed and bounced happily as it spilled over her shoulder. "If you guys are going to follow me, might as well come to my summer home."

As she walked away a group of buff men emerged from the corner she was at, there were 5 of them, each had battle worn scars and a permanent scowl plastered on their faces. Then a skinny male with a swollen head emerged from the men, "She's the one." He said quivering at the sight of her, they all smirked and their scars smiled as well.

"This is the one that gave you trouble?" The biggest one chided, laughing at the same time, but the lecherous man merely nodded, "Out of my way or you do you all want to taste the bottom of my foot?" They all laughed.

Odd, even they hadn't heard of her.

One of them rushed her, she quickly ducked and slid underneath the man's legs, she shot out her arms and as she slid she crashed her arms to the man's ankles causing him to topple over. Pushing off the ground she flipped and spun as she balanced herself, upside down, on her hands; another one approached and as she spun her heels connected to his jaw. He recoiled every time she kicked him, before giving him a chance to react she got back to her feet, landed four punches to the ribs, he lunged at her. Slapping his arms aside she scaled the man, using his side as a springboard, she jumped up until she was at eye level. She kneed his shoulder, kneed his face, then propped herself up on him.

Her hands gripped his shoulders as she was upside down from the man, right above him. Before he could think of doing anything, she swung forward and kicked the man's back causing him to fly back. Using her momentum she delivered two kicks to two other men who charged, they fell back unconscious.

Then the biggest one lunged, he didn't seem too happy. Dodging his grapple, she crouched and strafed to his right, swinging her elbow at his side he doubled over, gripping at the afflicted side she swung around the man's body, her legs wrapped around his left arm as she coiled around his back. Letting her grip go she swung completely around until she faced him again, she grabbed his collar, and keeping her legs wrapped around his arm she quickly snapped it breaking it.

Then she coiled her feet around the man's neck, spreading her body across his arm she held it between her breasts, and with one quick tug. She pulled the man down to the ground.

Her legs were across the man's body, and his arm was laying on her body as she held on to it, she performed an arm bar technique. Arcing her body up, she broke his other arm, then releasing her grip she kicked the man on the chin, knocking him out.

"How did it taste?" Muttering as she got up, the leech from before quickly ran off, hopefully he would find better friends who were more tougher.

Lian looked worriedly toward the square, which was just around the next bend. This was going to be very difficult, even though they would most likely just blend in with the crowd, the chances of bumping into trouble were very high.

There's nothing for it, she thought, we just have to most fast.

She turned toward Kazuma and smiled awkwardly before walking casually next to him. As they entered the square, they seemed to be hit with a wall of noise. The large space swarmed with people dressed in worn and dirty greens. On the outskirts of the square, the guards were highly visible in their clean and official looking clothes.

Lian followed behind Kazuma as they pushed their way into the crowd, her impassive face showing none of the nervousness that fluttered in her heart.

Just as quickly as Yasei shifted himself in a battle stance to the new intruders, they were all soundly beaten by the girl his sobering mind began to recognise. He stood slack jawed for a moment and had to shake himself from his amazement. He blinked a few more times and then dropped his guard. Looking at the girl for a moment, Yasei's mind jogged itself. "Ahhhh, you're her! The girl that everyone talks about. The 'Warrior Queen' I believe is nickname I've heard you called."

"As for myself, since I have yet to introduce myself to both of you, I am Yasei. That may be enough to identify me to you, young lady." Spoken with a grin towards Kiyoshi. "As for you, my new friend, as I hope we will be, I am the man who built, designed or oversaw construction of almost every single building here. I am the 'Grand Architect' if you will." He flourished, bowed and then laughed a deep belly laugh that shook his whole body. "Fire Lord indeed!"

He looked at his two new companions. "So, where are we off to my dear Kiyoshi?"
