Whereas Ven and Aqua, I'm pretty sure, are just friends.

Aqua is in some way connected to Kairi, I assume which in turn would make aqua connected to Namine, since they're the same entity. Same goes for Roxas-Ven-Sora. imo

Aqua is in some way connected to Kairi

The only relation I can see between Aqua and Kairi is
1) they met in BBs, making for not much of a relation
2) Xion is somehow made of Memories residing inside Sora and she's a mixture of his Memories of Namine and Kairi, and of the Ven Memories inside him of Aqua.

Nothing about Aqua herself though.
