I'm starting my college applications. I have to write 3 essays that I know of. The other school is ... annoying and won't let me know.

I'm just wondering if anyone else is going through this.

On top of that, our air conditioning is broken and its 107 outside. *sigh* *sweat*

I'm lucky on this (though I still have a few years before I have to think about it) because there's a great college in the area. Over half my siblings got scholarships to it, as well.

Still, applying for colleges and scholarships is quite a pain. And even after you get in, you have to deal with your schedule. @_@

Hmm funny I never wrote an essay to get into college. The college I go to simply looked at my transcript from highschool and accepted me.

Most of my essays were just a load of bull. Only one of the 4 I wrote was longer than a page, and that was because I was trying to get into the best engineering school in Colorado (I still didn't get accepted). The other ones were those "tell us a little about yourself" kind of essays that you can write in 5 minutes.

University of Tulsa - essay not required but I LOVE THIS SCHOOL
Univeristy of Texas in Austin - I don't really care about this school, but my mom is making write essay
Southern Methodist University - where the rich Dallas kids hang.

I've written one essay on Free Will. I' need to hurry up. Essay writing is actually not bad. I'm just concerned about how it flows, but I'll get people to read it and comment when school starts.

Now, the scholarships ... *sigh* I don't even want to think about it. I think my parents are rich enough that I don't even need to bother.

Jutting, long time no see. My mom is also making me take SAT classes. My score was a little less than 2000. :/

Well, if you had perfect grades, you could get a scholarship that could practically pay for everything.

That's a huge IF. I make As and Bs and as of last semester, a few Cs. My grades are quite less than perfect, but since I was in the IB program, I think Tulsa might give me something. Atleast 1,000 diollars for the honors program. And maybe for dancing.

i kinda thought about University of Maryland since i literally live right down the street from there but they don't offer photography there
and for the SAT, ur scores have to be like this:
Crit read: 560-670

My scores are in that range.

Yeah, well, the Texas weather doesn't bother me. I don't like the cold.

So, you're going to be a Senior, gamergirl? Have you taken SATs yet?

Can I ask you guys something, exactly how do you guys get a score that high when you don't know about half of what the material is about? I failed the SAT's pretty bad and I won't tell my scores either.

I got a 1900 on my first try, but I looked at the test first. It's just natural. I know a guy who got 2100 on his first try. He's taken it again and when you take all of his combined scores, he gets a composite of 2300, 100 short of perfection. I envy him.

You can study and practice and improve your score a lot, which is what I'm going to do. I'd like to get 2100, atleast.

Anyone taking the ACT? I never even touched that thing and got a 27. Next time I'd like to get above a 30. ACT looks like such crap.

I took the ACT a lot. I prefer taking that crap better than the SAT, that's for sure and its way easier.

Well no such thing existed when I was in highschool, the Board of Ed. was crap and only a few had a natural talent in getting over 1000 as a score. I on the other hand have no talent at all. Which is a shame...

Easier? I guess its easier, but its more annoying and the science is difficult to me. Plus, the SAT is a lot more fun. SAT is longer than the ACT, but I actually wanted to kill myself during the ACT.

SB, you should know that the SAT has changed. The highest score used to be 1600 but now its 2400.
