"I fight...for what I have left."
Full Name: Leon Seph Terch
Name at Birth: Leon Seph Terch
Aliases/Nicknames: Leon's only nickname is a simple shortening of his name to "Leo." Aside from that, Leon has been dubbed with the codename Reaver. Within the Void's Fist, he's rarely called by his real name and is generally referred to by his codename.
Title(s): None
Preferred Name: Seeing as how his humanity has been revoked, Leon doesn't see any reason in being called by his real name. Instead, the codename Reaver (chosen by him) is the name he prefers to go by.
Age/Date of Birth: November 26, 2105 (18)
Gender: Male
Race/Ethnicity: Leon is in fact a mix of multiple races due to his diverse family history. Leon is a combination of Ghanaian (African), Cantonese (Asian), Arawak (South American), Latino (Central American), East Indian (Asian), and British (European) genes that make him a highly multicultural individual. However, the majority of his facial and bodily features reflect that of is Ghanaian and Cantonese heritages.
Appearance: Leon's appearance consist of brown skin, sharp brown eyes that give off a lethal edge, and slightly unkempt kinky black voluminous hair (that seems to resemble a spiky afro). At the same time, Leon can be understood as a rather handsome individual. However, this is compounded with a subtle, vicious, efficient demeanor that let's others know that he means business. This is reinforced by an X-shaped scar on his right cheek. Leon's figure is lithe and athletic, built for speed, agility, and stamina (with a hint noticeable strength) whose performance surpasses even the most skilled Olympic athlete from years of brutal training. He stands at five feet eleven inches and weighs one-hundred sixty pounds.
At almost all times, Leon can be seen wearing a specially crafted, form-fitting
suit created by the Void's Fist technicians. The suit's primary color is that of a solid, slightly glossy metallic black with a perfectly circular cycloptic "eye" that gives off a purple glow. Its design is made to accommodate Leon's frame to make it feel as light and comfortable as possible and to conform to his key special ability (see Special Abilities/Skills section). The helmet is removal so it can reveal his head but it is rarely taken off during the course of a mission. For more "casual" occasions, Leon is usually seen wearing black urban apparel or black gym clothes (when training on his own).
Weapons/Equipment: Leon's weaponry consists of a pair of custom made medium-sized twin
katanas that fitted in back-mounted sheathes. Made from the black metal discovered in the Mohegan void trench, the blades were crafted to be extremely light-weight while maintaining a sharp edge capable of cutting through light to medium layered steel armor (with the exception of cutting through the very metal they were created from). In addition, Leon is equipped with a custom semi automatic
sniper rifle that's lightweight and fitted with an S4 suppressor that greatly reduces noise and recoil while practically leaving no bullet trails. While Leon generally prefers his blades over his gun, he can wield both with deadly efficiency.
Leon's most prized and valuable piece of a equipment is a suit, crafted by the Void's Fist's top technicians. The suit's armor is made of the same black metal found in the Mohegan void trench. Due to the nature of the metal itself, the armor was created to be flexible in order to allow the wearer (Leon) to be completely uninhibited in his movements while retaining a an excellent level of protection (bulletproof, fireproof, acidproof). Underneath the layer armor is an amorphous gel-like layer that acts as the "skin" of the suit while the armor is the "shell." The "skin" has been bio-engineered to maintain a constant moderate internal temperature despite the environmental climate. The biotechnology embedded in the suit, dubbed "Chameleon", is able to completely sync with Leon's abilities at a 100% success rate, making the suit an extension of Leon himself. At the same time, Leon's suit comes with a helmet. Its internal design however has a head up display that's linked to the Void's Fist HQ, allowing him to view mission objectives, parameters, and able to communicate with other members through a closed intercom channel. At the same time, the helmet has built-in night vision, thermal vision and a respiration filter to ensure that Leon's oxygen is separated from weaponized gases. The cycloptic "eye" design is designed to resist intense amounts of concentrated light (usually emitted from flash grenades). Because the suit is linked to Leon's CNS, it is vulnerable to highly advanced EMP bursts. In order to counter this, the suit is equipped with an emergency defibrillator to revive Leon. However, the suit temporarily looses its 100% sync rate and is reduced to a devastating 25%, making Leon's movements noticeably impaired and in a poor state of quality (especially his key ability). Following his setback is an emergency recovery phase that requires Leon to be in an inactive state proportional to strength of the EMP. This phase's maximum length has been recorded at around fifteen minutes plenty of time for him to be captured or killed if he doesn't play his cards right.
Aside from Leon's suit (the term suit also includes the helmet), he is also equipped with throwable projectiles. Among these include throwing
knives and
stars (made from the same material) whose blades are laced in a film of neurotoxins (on the blades) that when placed inside human flesh react to liquefy and flow into the bloodstream. Leon can also use other forms of equipment such as grenades (smoke, flash, incendiary, emp), miniature first aid kits, and other forms of basic equipment provided by the Void's Fist.
Special Abilities/Skills: Unlike most individuals that were gifted with immense power, Leon was changed in a more...concentrated sense. The first of these changes was a carbide ceramic ossification of Leon's skeletal structure, which made his bones practically unbreakable. The second included a new protein complex within his muscle cells to increase their tissue density and dramatically decrease the lactase recovery time natural to the human body. The third change in Leon was a growth hormone catalyst secreted from the void stones themselves as they were absorbed by his body to boost the growth of his skeletal and muscle tissues. The fourth change caused occipital capillary reversal, ensuing a marked visual perception increase. A superconducting fabrication of neural dendrites caused an alteration of bioelectrical nerve transduction to shielded electronic transduction. This change created a 300% increase in Leon's reflexes while at the same time having noticeable increase of intellect, memory and creativity. However, the most noticeable change that occurred in Leon was a natural ability to become virtually invisible.
In conjunction to Leon's newfound abilities, he has an array of skills that make him an extremely valuable asset to the Void's Fist. First and foremost, Leon is essentially a master of stealth. Coupled with his invisibility, Leon has trained himself (from his background, see Bio) to be able to navigate and infiltrate some of the most complex environments (mostly urban settings but has been given additional military training in other environments) and heavily guarded facilities with ease. Leon's athleticism, something a part of him since his birth has been tripled by his abilities and training (in particular his acrobatic talents) allow him to excel in evasion tactics to keep himself unharmed in small to large scale fights. Leon's background has allowed him to be highly adaptable to most situations. In conjunction to this is his natural ability to do well in high-stress situations in combat, allowing him handle situations average soldiers would crack under. Leon is an expert in close quarters combat, having training in several martial arts including Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Capoeria, Jeet Kun Do, Jujitsu, Tae Kwon Do, and most importantly Ninjutsu. Add in Leon's exceptional marksmanship and a natural "acting talent" (see Bio for a better understanding), he has all the markings needed to make an adaptable and capable spy, assassin, or operative.
Bio: For as long as he could remember, and as far as he's concerned, Leon has always been on his own. Growing up as an orphan in Detroit's new expanded urban setting, one rule truly existed: you either have or you don't. With the explosive leap in technological development, the economic shift that followed the newly revolutionized world practically created two polar socioeconomic classes. It wasn't hard to tell which one he belonged to as Leon had to live for fourteen years of life living off what little money he could find...or steal. In a world where jobs were reserved only for those who were born in a silver spoon in their mouths, Leon became immersed in the art of thievery. From pocket change to "acquired goods" Leon could make a day's pay that would only carry him for...well a day. He taught himself how to steal, lie, and cheat his way through life not because he wanted to, but because his had to. He'd learn from mistakes when he would have to sprint, jump, roll, and (in some cases) flip his way through a concrete jungle in order to avoid being beaten to a pulp (or killed) or being jailed by an intolerant police force that cared nothing for the plight for a starving young boy. He learned how to be hard, to endure burning hunger that would be his natural alarm clock and rasping thirst that made dirty street puddles the only thing that would stop him dying. Things would eventually take a turn for the worst for Leon.
At the age of fourteen, Leon was arrested, charged with a mountain of larceny and trespassing accumulated from years of run-ins with the cops that would go unreported in order to properly jail a homeless population that would reach annual quotas and convicted without due process and sentenced to four years in prison. Times had changed and there was a lot of money in having inmates to fill incarceration quotas. It only took a year's time in prison to bring Leon to truly live by a philosophy that manifested itself in the form sickening living spaces, daily fights for his life and overall contained chaos: "Adapt or Die." During the second year of his sentence, Leon came to realize that the only way he could gain control is if he took control, becoming the master of his own fate. After months of planning and observation, Leon escaped from prison on his sixteenth birthday, marking him as an escaped convict before he could even get a driver's license (not that he stood a chance of getting on anyway, money had to be paid for that). Ready to take things to the next level, Leon was prepared to pave his own road, no matter how many skulls had to be bashed in to do it. It wouldn't matter to how many people would have to suffer, they would find a way, as he would find his own way. His freedom would be short lived, as his actions stirred the interests of those who were truly in control.
It was supposed to be another mark, easy to spot, easy to handle. The way the suit walked about the city streets let Leon know that he wasn't all that important. Swiping this guy's wallet would be a big payday for him. Swiping a wallet that was embedded with a tracking device wasn't what he expected. By the time Leon realized that he had been coaxed out, he was already kneeling down in front of a man in a lab coat that told him one thing: "It's going to be different from now on."
What Leon managed to do, few could ever be selected into...or would want to. He had been taken by a military-funded corporate research firm that was attempting to fuse void stones into human DNA. The amount of cases in which subjects were literally torn to pieces was unimaginable, but these quacks found something interesting Leon that brought them to believe that he would be that one case to succeed. For two years, Leon was forced to train his body and mind for what was to come. Failure was met with torture...but it didn't matter to Leon. To him, it was another one of those things that he would have to endure as he always did. When the day came...he truly knew what it meant to survive.
As Leon's body twisted, broke, and repaired itself after constant rejection to the void stone's power he could feel himself changing. He was seventeen when Leon died and in his place was the first known VS-Human fusion case. Billions would be made off of him. They were planning to make him a puppet, an empty shell that would be given single objectives to please those that took away his humanity. Had only they realized that they were dealing with someone who had made himself then they would've killed him the moment they captured him.
Their prized possession escaped from their grasp, but only after slaughtering his creators. Having lost everything, he would be contacted by a group known as the Void's Fist. Leon didn't know why he chose to follow that anonymous tip...it just seemed like the right thing to do. When he finally came into contact with the Void's Fist, he knew that he finally had a reason to be around. Their goals matched his: gain control from those that took it away. They showed him how to control and develop his powers, they gave him shelter when the world abandoned him...it was about time he returned the favor.
