(Mods, if I messed up and put this in the wrong forum, sorry for the trouble! Go ahead and move it.)
So okay. since my mom died, me, one of my brothers (tho he's been cursed lazy lately..) and me have been taking turns cooking. My sister makes some incredible cakes sometimes, but we're talking about dinner, here.
A gal gets tired of the same old thing. Mind, we do not have much money (more common in the US than you think..) but we usually have ground beef, canned corn, canned green beans, and we can sometimes get some fresh vegetables. (I'm hoping we can grow a garden; the weather was nuts so we never got around to it this year) We also often have spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, canned cream of mushroom soup, macaroni, noodles, and spaghetti. (Our spice cupboard is also pretty stocked, so no worries there.) There's also sometimes some chicken breast, but I usually don't touch that since Sis saves that for special occasions. But since I'm not afraid of the different and am always on the lookout for something a little different; anyone want to share a few recipes? If it takes stuff we don't have I'll save it for when things get a little better. And I'll try to share a few recipes too..ones that aren't family secrets. (In the US south, family secret recipes are basically "If I tell you I'll have to kill you" so I don't want to go that far.)
Also fair warning; if you're in the EU, remember the US is not fully on the metric system. I know, we're stubborn as mules! This really shows with cooking, sorries. I'm very used to cups, teaspoons, and whatnot, not..the other. Here's a conversion chart to help there.
So yeah. Let's talk cooking and recipes guys! Oh and yeah; if you wanna get KH-y with it; I've been thinking about looking for ingredients for sea salt ice cream myself once I can get some more $$ in the bank..just to make this fun.
