I think he's dead, and isn't coming back. I think that if we see Ansem in the new series, it'll be a younger one. It's mentioned Xigbar saw the knights when he was an apprentice, so it's possible the knights were in HB, and that Ansem met them...

I think it would be cool if he came back, but it wouldnt suprise me if he was dead.

I think we'll see him in a flashback or two.

Uhhh... what? We're talking about Ansem the Wise.... you know, old blonde dude? Not Xehanort's Heartless, if that's what you're thinking....

I think he'll be back... in a flashback. But I think that's pretty much it... maybe the new game if it explains Xehanort's past.

i know Kersha, in some report (i forget which) Ansem the Wise said that he was a person deprived of body or soul. hence the name DiZ, Darkness in Zero. darkness in nothingness

I'm pretty sure Darkness in Zero came from how he observed how despite he being in the realm of nothing, there was still darkness in the midst. So Darkness in Zero was what he was going to be. He's a whole person, only was banished to the realm of nothing, not becoming nothing.

The next game is about teh past so its most likely we will see him in the next game teaching his apprentices in Hollow Bastion and when Mickey first meets him.
