I've never taken any programming classes ever in my life nor have I actually even been in a computer class. I started learning about the summer and the only book I find useful is the one from Jesse Liberty and I became irritated from having to return to the library every five days.

Rather than waste my time on some meaningless and useless books (and to spend some time with my eyes OFF this radiation machine), mind recommending a few?

What's wrong with going to the library every 5 days?

Anyway, just get a good textbook, pore over it and don't be afraid to experiment. Unless if you screw up REAL bad (system("format c:") anyone?), I doubt your computer, IDE and/or compiler will suffer any damage. Just be careful not to mess with pointers too much.
