Re: "Ask an Artist" Thread

If all of the elements (background, effects, text, etc.) match the flow of your stock.

Flow generally goes in these three directions:

1. \\

2. //

3. \\//

Here's two examples

Question!

I notice a lot of people redrawing pencil sketches into cleaner black lines, what program can I use to do that? c:

Paint Tool Sai
Corel Painter 12 (w/WACOM Tablet)

A color theory question.
Where would Double Complements be used most effectively alongside a Triad.

What is a good way to feather the edges of stock so they don't look so sharp in Photoshop? (I may or may not be using the wrong term)

A: You could render the photo yourself with the pen tool. Of course that would take some time but ultimately you'd have a fine cut.

B: Use the selection tool and do the following:

Select >> Modify >> Feather. And adjust to your preference.

Thanks Sean, I've been trying to figure out how to do that for a while now

Monoprice!

Great tablet. With shipping it costs around 58 dollars, and that's for a 6x10. A 9x12 is still under 100 dollars. I had a wacom before, and these may not be the highest quality of plastic used in comparison to wacom, but it's still really friggen great.
