Have you guys considered that maybe the site itself should have a main RP series that players can actually progress their character, form bonds and get stronger via a stat system instead of continually doing RP one shots. I've been here for nearly four to five years (maybe more) and it's still the same one shot direction.

As much as I would honestly enjoy a tabletop-style-esque sort of thing like that, it's the various obstacles and tiny things that worry me. Mostly just keeping peoples' interest and activity within the Section is the biggest molehill.

Creating a World and populating it with masses of various and different characters, locations, items and gadgets, etc; putting together a base stat character sheet; isn't as difficult as keeping people active within that Realm.

Creating a KH-based RP in the typical one-shot style that is prevalent (and has been), with the little bits and bobs and twists I could conjure up for me wouldn't be difficult - it's just general activity that gnaws at the bone of the problem.

It's not as hard as you think, I've Rp'ed in some pretty intense Naruto Roleplays that involved these elements and it was immensely fun. The best part is how each village had their own active community and run by a different Kage who approach things differently on how their village is special for new members to join. Its pretty fun and competitive if done right, the only thing that actually hard is coming up with a good main plot.

It's still a case of people sticking with it, though. The biggest problem comes into play when someone who enjoys RPing gets so bogged down with things in real life that they can't stay active. The community has grown up and gotten older, and unfortunately, that means more responsibilities than when we were fifteen. And we've already seen how difficult it is to get new blood to stick around. So, maybe it's more a case of telling life to back off, and that's so out of the question it's not even an option.

Friendly neighborhood bubble popper out.

This is an issue in every roleplay forum, I've been roleplaying for almost ten years on main stream roleplays and I'm well aware of the importance of gardening interest to attract new players while also keeping old players stuck on it. Even when life catches up and they have alot more responsibility to keep up with, that doesn't change the fact they can make time to something they really enjoy. The same logic can apply to video games as well, I'm a full time student and I have a pretty busy schedule but I find a way to make time to play video games because I enjoy the hobby. The same goes for roleplaying, so unless your some kind of med student or you've caught some terrible illness that enables you to type on a keyboard. You can make time.

That being said, I believe doing a main stream roleplay is better then whats going on right now where

-GM makes a Roleplay
- Player decides to join and makes a character
- Roleplay ends
- Character lost, no progress is made and no character development is achieved.

Again I've been doing this with Naruto and it's been immensely fun and competitive, you be surprise how fun it is to play around with the universe created by Kishimoto.

I'm not saying it's not a good idea, I'm just pointing out some reasons that the older group finds it hard to put in the time. I'm applying for college, either for culinary or teaching, but then there's also a part-time job that I'm holding down *supposedly it's part time; with the hour's they've got me working, it's more like full-time*, playing chauffeur for my younger sisters, day to day running and then writing for a publishable manuscript that I'm working on too. I love it when I find some downtime to apply to KHI, but sometimes, my creativity's wrung out to the point that all I want to do is curl up with a book and my MP3 player and read instead of write, or even curl up with a video game I've been neglecting. The point is, you don't have to be going to med school to have a difficult time in trying to squeeze in writing for pleasure; sometimes, it's a case of bad time managing, and sometimes it's just a case of insane is the norm for your life.

And just a clarification, please. How is a main stream RP better than the ones going on right now? I noticed that you cited character development as one point, but I've seen where current RPs have character development in them as well. A good RP is like any other story, just with multiple writers. So how's a main stream RP different from the GM RPs?

Main Rps are better because it has actual character development like I said, perhaps you're being slightly bias but i haven't seen anything other then one shots here and there where characters are suddenly getting stupid strong in just ONE RP thread. High School RPs are the same thing in this RP, when you have a love interest its just plain boring to just make to PC characters romance under 1 week real time in a one shot RP. True romance involves hardships, experience, many GM RPs to back up rue character development. Why does my character wanna get stronger. I'm surprise you're asking me whats the difference, I could go on making you an entire list but I'm just giving you the straightforward answer.

I can use your RP, the one with Sky, and how i was getting stupid strong way to fast along with rush romance. That being said, there is a clear difference.
