“I'll always be there to bring you back!”

Name: Luin Aerin Arita
Age: 20
Gender: Female, however she chooses not to reveal this fact.

Weapons/Abilities:
Metal Tonfa: A pair of hard metal tonfa that are durable and are able to withstand most attacks if not all attacks. Luin was given these for her eighteenth birthday when she proved that she was a capable tonfa wielder (this does not mean she mastered tonfa wielding). She made an adjustment to her tonfa six months after receiving it to have hidden spear heads inside each tonfa ends. These spear heads can be revealed by pressing two buttons on the handles and likewise can be retracted.

Basic Fighting Skills: Since she cannot have mastered using the tonfa without basic fighting skills, she would also hold up when fighting without a weapon, although having a tonfa would raise her fighting ability, of course.

Aero: She had decided to learn air element magic a year ago, and now manages to use two types of Aero. One form of Aero creates a barrier to defend her against minor attacks, while the other form allows her to shoot a sharp gust of wind at an enemy, causing damage to the enemy.

Appearance:
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 120 lbs
Luin used to have mid-back length, straight black hair until she decided to cut it off to a very short length when she became six years old to keep it out of the way when she started training rigorously. She has since kept up with her short, messy hairstyle that does not extend past her neck, though she has a short side fringe. She has an oval shaped face with slightly prominent cheeks and naturally has light pink lips, revealing her feminine features a little. Her eyes are a dark brown.

Luin doesn’t have a prominent chest so wearing a tank top and a jacket hides the fact that she is biologically female and to accompany her top, she wears a pair of plain, straight pants, the ends of her pants tucked into a pair of short heel-less boots. She has a pouch hanging on her right waist. Her entire outfit is black in colour.

Personality:
Inheriting some of her father’s beliefs that one would not survive if weak, she also learned that being weak is a liability. This meant that she grew up showing little to no appearances related to sadness and pain (she would get a harsh punishment or be completely ignored by her father if she did), although this also meant she may have just cried or was in pain when she was alone. An example would be when her grandfather passed away, none of the men showed tears when mourning and she was also one of those who did not cry despite being rather close to her grandfather. It was only when she returned home and spent some time in her room alone that she cried openly.

Luin is humble and reserved, preferring to cause little trouble to people and there was never a moment where she felt proud of herself because her father always showered her with criticisms, even when she did well against her relatives who sparred with her.

Her seemingly detached personality did not mean she was not open to people—in fact she would always lend a hand to those in need, believing that power was best used to aid people. However, because she spent all her years training under her father, she has little friends and no friends she can call ‘close’ to her. She only has acquaintances most and perhaps she might not even know how to be ‘close’ to someone. That would clearly be a disadvantage now that she has been whisked off to an unknown area with no knowledge of what is happening and what could happen from now on.

Bio:
Luin’s world is known as Gurel, and she grew up in the grand city Elm, named after a giant Elm tree that stands north of the city. The patriarchal Arita clan was known all over for their tonfa skills. Luin’s grandfather was the head of the Arita clan and her father was the youngest of the Head’s four sons. Her grandfather’s death when she was sixteen led to the oldest son as head of the Arita clan.

Luin’s father, Lent, felt inferior as the youngest as well as the least expected to carry on the clan’s name despite his efforts. Luin’s mother actually gave birth to fraternal twins, although one did not survive. The one who survived was Luin while the one who died was her brother. For the Arita clan, women were weaker than men. Lent was terribly disappointed that he could not have a son. Knowing her father’s expectations of a son to follow after him, she made sure that she could fulfill that role instead. She was brought up strictly under her father as a male and eventually no one, not even other members of the clan save for her grandfather, thought her family had a daughter. Her mother Elena, on the other hand, wanted Luin to be herself instead of burdening herself with the clan’s expectations.

Luin never heard of her mother’s wishes until darkness invaded Gurel and Heartless appeared. It had been the first time the Heartless appeared in great numbers and eventually the whole city was having a tough time fighting against them. It was when she was ordered by her father to take care of her mother that her mother tells her about how it was better for Luin to be herself rather than her father’s ideal. The next thing Luin knew, she woke up in a dark alleyway within Traverse Town.

Other:
- Luin’s grandfather doted on her a lot, and he shared the same opinion as her mother in that they both would have preferred Luin to accept herself instead of forcing herself to fit her father’s ideals.
- Luin keeps a diary which she had started using since her grandfather passed away, only writing when she feels a great event has happened in her life and since she has not had much happening in her life her diary has been rather empty. That will probably change now that she is in a completely new place.
- ‘Luin’ was the name intended for her brother had he been alive while ‘Aerin’, now her middle name, was meant to be the name intended for her. Her grandfather and mother called her Aerin in private, much to her discomfort.
- She enjoys sweets and desserts a lot, though it is a fact that she finds embarrassing.

Thank you, and I'm sorry for putting my name within the same brackets as the prefix. I realized too late that the title was a bad idea.
