A thought for the next saga.

Hey folks. I just finished the game a few days ago. Gotta say, absolutely loved it. Sure it was not perfect, but it was a fitting conclusion. Since I've processed just about everything now, an idea popped into my head.

Not sure if this was discussed before, but:

So, we know that Sora has essentially disappeared at the end of the game, and the secret ending seems to show where he may have ended up, with Riku apparently going after him. Way back in the days where KH1 was first announced, it was stated that Sora was the one who was supposed to be saved, not Kairi. With this in mind, do you think we might see a callback to KH1's original concept , and focus on Riku and the other characters trying to find and rescue him? I thought that this might be an interesting spin. Seeing as the entire Dark Seeker Saga was focused on Sora trying to rescue everyone else, we might see this flipped, and everyone trying to rescue him instead. One could make the argument, however, that this may have already happened, if you consider the events of DDD.

Thoughts?

It could be a possibility, yes. Getting Sora back could be the next game's three hour intro campaign, and afterwards, they focus on whatever threat there is.

That is a possibility. Sora did seem lost in the secret ending, and Riku seemed to be looking for something or at least exploring. Although I do recall Nomura stating that his thoughts on numbered kingdom hearts games involve having Donald and Goofy as Sora's companions. If that is strictly the case, then this wouldn't be kingdom hearts 4 but something else instead more akin to bbs or ddd, which are also main entries but not numbered.

Good point. Though maybe the first hours of the game are without Donald and Goofy, and then we partner back with them.
