LoL on my mind, if Kairi and Xion have a really link between us, I will disagree with nomura's method because he always uses Kairi.

Because Kairi also looks like Aqua and if there is a god, Xion is Aqua related.

Because Kairi has no other reason for existence save for the characters Nomura links to her.

If she is not connected to Kairi, then Kairi would have virtually no importance in the rest of the KH series.

Well, seeing how I'm a firm believer both Roxas and CO are going to be making an appearance in KH3 (or whatever the next true "future" game would be), Naminé should've been more than enough, though again - we're left with the fact Kairi's there only because of someone else that's related of her that's important XD;

That's actually one of the arguments why Kairi lacked too much importance even in KH1 itself, or did I miss where being a PoH outside that game was important?
BBS shows they're looking at that direction again, but we can't be positive they would in KH3 as well. And if they would, it would all but require Kairi to be a plot device as she was in KH1, thus again rendering it being Kairi the PoH instead of just any PoH all but useless.

But those characters are only conected to her because of her status as a princess of heart because without it there would have been no namine. So it does hold importance to the plot of future stories because it would answer any possible anomilies like namine being an unbirth or otherwise. That was a very good point you made.

The thing is, Kairi as Kairi holds no meaning. Put Belle's Heart in Sora's Body and you'd get a Naminé for Belle too. Naminé is also enough unlike Kairi to explain her being unlike any other PoH that might've created her in Kairi's stead - that's my point.
Also, there's always the somewhat logical rumor that Naminé was originally not to be Kairi's Nobody, but unrelated to her. Even if that rumor is wrong, the fact remains that CoM all but has her act it out actively, seeing how her being related to Kairi is redundant.
For argument's sake, she could've placed herself either instead of Selphie (seeing how all she really needed was to base herself as someone in Sora's past), or even just have her as she originally presented herself - Another girl on the Islands.
Her being Kairi's Nobody and yes messing with Memories of Kairi, not messing with those memories or whatever - is simply their way of trying to yes base SoKai in a reality where the couple is poorly based in the best case, is circumstantial and worse in the worse scenario.

SoKai wasn't intended, it was just there, which is part of its flaw if not the main part of it. It was more "look children, Sora isn't gay!" and we all saw how well that went, huh?
I mean, eff it all to hell and back, the couples Destiny Islands based were Sora/Selphie what with her wanting to share a Paopu with him, and Riku/Kairi what with Riku's teasing and Selphie, Tidus and Wakka being avid fans of it.
It always awed me how afterwards it seemed to be a given Sora should give too much of a damn about her, when in DI it never really seemed like she was anything that special to Sora as a friend beyond being the girl that was just coughed out of the sky into their lives one day.
