A different soundtrack this time around

First of all, avoid spoilers at all costs.

Now, I've heard many of the music from BBS and I can say that this music really fits the game's atmosphere, but somehow it feels a lot less KH-ish. In my book that's neither a good nor a bad thing, but this one is strikingly different from the other games.

Except for one (this song is a spoiler itself) which is really badass but it feels really different

BBS's soundtrack is a lot heavier on string instruments, I noticed.

Indeed, even the brass is a lot more melodic and appearent this time around, instead of being a rhythmic accompaniment. Strings I think might be real by the sound of it, not synthesised. It seems they (or she) were aiming for a more film music sound this time around.To me especially appearent in:

The secret boss theme (won't link it due to possible spoilers, youtube it if you care),
Isa and Lea theme (YouTube - Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep - Isa and Lea)
Neverland battle (YouTube - Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep - Neverland Battle).

I like most of the music on it, but I feel like neverland was really messed up... if you hear the battle theme, its just terrible... I dont think that it even sounds like a battle theme at all...
Its just my opinion and you can hate me if you want to, but i dont like that one song in particular...

But I pretty much LOVE everything else

The idea is that since it was before KH, it should be before the usual music developed.
So really, the music of KH1 and on isn't enough like BBS.

Pretty good? I thought it was great. I had really high expectations for Yoko. Days was a bit of a disappointment. Scherzo Di Notte was one of my favorite pieces and I was really happy to hear a remake. But now, my favorite piece is Vanitas's music. When I heard the beginning, it kind of surprised me. Then I heard the rest of it, and it was pretty epic.

I thought it was pretty good. It definitely seemed to have the KH style to it.

Yeah, Vanitas has a kickass theme (love his second version especially though ;D) I loved Radiant Garden and Scherzo Di Notte in this and all the pieces sounded great. =3 :heart: Yoko is my heroine of classical music.

Personally I felt that Days' Neverland theme was the best.

BBS is a mix of old and new instrumentals.

I enjoyed a lot of the themes. But I'm also one of the few who prefer Days version of neverland. I do however love how dark the vanitas fight theme is. And Aqua's theme is rivaling Xion's for most depressing theme ever.

Vanitas's theme is seriously like my fave song ever right now xD I was humming it (again!) in school today xD (I'm still on Terra's story so I won;t get tto hear it fo a while on my game thoguh >>; Takin it nice and slow cuz I like it more that way

I can pick up Roxas's theme in Ven's. Fate of the Unknown in Aqua's, and I can't think of the name of the music that is relevant to Terra's theme. It seems familiar, I just can't think of it.

I haven't heard all the themes yet, I want to be able to enjoy hearing it for the first time when I play the game. I have listened to the secret boss theme though, which is pretty amazing. I don't like how they simply reused vim and vigor though, it seemed sort of lazy of them not too change it up. Ven's theme is okay, it's not as touching as Poppet's theme though.
