It's worth noting that these were taken from Youtube, and the quality depends on the video capture method of each user. Especially with the Atlantica one, the screenshot quality does not represent the clarity of each version of the game, i.e PS2 atlantica would actually look worse.

This is a nice comparison, I like it. Some cutscene comparisons would be cool :)

Thanks! Can't believe the difference! I would like to see some cutscene comparisons as well.

I'd like to see more if you have them. Don't make a chore out of it though.

Glad people are interested! Even the command menu seems wider in the remix lol.
I believe with the cutscenes, they were widescreen in the original game with black bars above and below. Now in the remix they have the same aspect ratio but take up the whole screen. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

I think you are right! I thought there was something off with the cutscenes, this is it.

PS2 version really sucks a lot of ass compared to the remaster. That cannot be disputed.

OH! That's what was missing from the cutscenes! I was watching them and I was like... "Something's weird about this scene..." No black bars. xD

I've added some more comparisons in the original post, including a cut-scene one, where both images are pretty much HD.

What really stands out the most to me is how identical Sora's facial animation looks despite the updated design. There are differences, such as the smaller mouth, but the similarities are great.

Would like to see more cutscene comparisons, especially for the aspect ratios.

Actually, they are different Aspect Ratio now, since the "widescreen" of the original scenes was closer to 1.66:1 or a little taller than 16:9.

1.66:1 is usually halfway between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios.
