Yeah, they could have just put a random shape temporarily for that scene in the game. Though I do wonder...if the american version of KHII will be the same symbol there...

The one drawn in the background of an encyclopedia of sorts? Or the one drawn by a main character in the game itself? A msytery indeed

It is vaguely possible that Roxas is drawing this symbol. He could have done part of the circle, one diagonal line (though the angle isn't right) and hadn't gotten to the spikes yet either. Weird...

but yeah, the camera does cut away for a little bit after it shows that part so he could have drawn the rest of that symbol, and the 3rd symbol which appears in the guide (X) might represent no soul, heart with and X in it=heartless, the nobody symbol, and now a circle with an X in it might= souless......but like I said before its probably just a dummy symbol until they want to release the real one for KH3.

Actually if you turn your head a little bit, then you can see that Roxas is possibly drawing the same symbol without the detail.

Somehow I doubt they'd put in a "fake" symbol. That just doesn't make sense. It wouldn't match up. Like with Roxas, DWU looked nothing like him because they later changed his character design.

The problem is thats ALL Roxas draws. As soon as he brings his hand down an inch more from where it is, it glows. Meaning he completed the symbol. The symbol he draws can't be the symbol in the book. It's physically impossible.

This makes absolutely no sense. I hope we don't like find out that Ultimania made up this symbol or anything...I doubt it though...that would be good though kinda, this symbol is ugly.

Could be soul or mind or something. If mind was a theme (and again bringing up my Epcot fanboyism) they really ought to include Figment or elements of the now gone Cranium Command(like Buzzy being the pilot of Sora's brain and the whole "Sword,Shielf,Staff" choices being made while at Cranium Command HQ while General Knowledge threatens to put Buzzy in a chicken or a talkshow host if he doesn't make the choice fast).

That's not the point. The picture used in Ultimania is ment to be the full picture Roxas draws on the table, but the picture Roxas draws is TOTALLY different. It would be like Riku having grey-ish hair in the game then blonde hair in the Ultimania Guide.
