Sorry ahead of time for the long post.

I keep seeing that people are confused about why Sora and the guardians repeated their same actions after Sora restored their hearts with the power of waking and brought them back on time. I felt the game was actually very clear on this through explanations in dream drop distance and Kh3.

Xehanort and young Xehanort have both spoken on time travel and how you can't literally change the future and how time corrects itself, hence why it was stated in dream drop distance that everyone loses their memories of the future after going back to their own time (that's if they are traveling through time the way Xehanort did.)

Time in the Kingdom hearts Universe is self correcting hence things will always play out as they should as long as there is no OUTSIDE interference. The only thing that changes is that your experiences in time travel leave an "imprint" on your heart. Hence why young Xehanort developed the desire to leave the islands after the imprint his time traveling experiences left on his heart.

Now, what Sora did was DIFFERENT from Xehanort's method of time travel. Sora and the guardians were basically dead. Only their hearts remained after being destroyed from the realm of light. And only because of Kairi believing in Sora was he able to hold on to his fading body long enough to restore it.

Now, what we learned after Sora spoke with Namine is that a source OUTSIDE of the current worldline/realm of light/Sora's realm can indeed influence the realm of light, due to the final world being outside the effects of regular time and space (which we all now see because of Sora meeting yozora in the upcoming dlc, which might imply the key to traversing time and other worldlines without being "corrected" by time is through the final world, the world where the dead go and where time no longer has meaning) and Namine having been able to send Terras armor to the battle, due to being outside of the realm of lights world and therefore time.

Chirithy clearly said that sleep and death are closely intertwined and that is why Sora constantly had been to the final world before.

Young Xehanort also said the power of waking was for traversing hearts to reach world's (ex: Sora and rikus hearts GETTING TO the sleeping world's I'm DDD), not traversing world's to reach hearts (bringing the realm of light worldline TO the guardians of light, but in a different time period. Also probably explains yozora, due to his traversing worldline being drawn to Sora's because Sora did the opposite and brought yozoras traversing world into contact with his heart unintentionally. Also fun fact, traverse town was a mix of people who lost their own world's and end up there, yet are returned once their world is restored. Could be a similar concept)

In summary, It's highly probable xehanorts side knew what Sora did because of young Xehanort's powers over time as well and informing them. Remembering events from time travel seems to have been possible for Sora and his friends because they didn't come back from the future or past of THEIR world, but from the Final World, but were still bound to the flow of time happening as it should in the living world and couldn't change their actions, but because Namine was able to contact Terras heart/armor OUTSIDE of the realm of light and time, she was able to influence the outcome because of her influence on Terras armor (that and she can switch around memories. Her use of that ability in the final world would probably be alot less restricted due to being outside of time itself)

While I doubted all this at first, I felt it was confirmed by the secret ending with the MOM being in Yozoras world, and the new trailer for the dlc brought it all together for me.

It's highly possible the MOM saw that he couldn't change time due to it always correcting itself, just as Xehanort found out, hence why he "disappeared".

Seeing Sora "disappear" at the end of KH3 made me realize that the MOM of is possibly using the same abuse of the power of waking to cross into other worldlines to see how he can influence outcomes of the future and his goals without being "corrected" by times laws.

The sleeping world's in DDD proved that sleeping world's (which are close to the final world, the afterlife due to chirithy saying sleep and death borders overlap) that time outside of the regular realm of light is almost at a standstill and can be manipulated by outside means or being "removed" from time in the realm of light all together, hence why we see different version of King Mickey from different time periods, and why different versions of tron can exist, either because this tron in DDD is from another worldline, or another time.

Case in point, many of the characters in the sleeping world's are alive and well In the real world (Mickey, Pinocchio, etc.) Yet still exist in the sleeping worlds due to time having almost no meaning in comparison.

In conclusion, it seems that removing yourself from one worldline into the final world or into a "sleeping" state make time trave much easier, as well as world crossing. Different worlds also experience time differently and so does the realm of darkness (it's possible aqua didn't even age in there)

While we don't know how Nomura will handle all this time travel world crossing business, it can be concluded that people OUTSIDE of one worldlines time can influence it without time correction kicking in on them due to the power of waking causing realms and worldlines to crossover.

MOM probably saw he couldn't change time Xehanort's way, and so instructed Ava and the dandelions to flee to another worldline and experimented with doing so himself to try to better manipulate events. He could see the outcome of the battle with Xehanort from his eye on the keyblade and through that probably also saw that worldline hopping and time manipulation was possible, due to Sora's actions and Xehanort witnessing them with the MOM's keyblade.
