無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

It was a flawlessly beautiful day. The youth of springtime was made extremely apparent as the birds happily chirped, the river happily lapping up against the rocks by the large and formal estate. The estate stood proudly and defiantly on top of the large hill. Two large buildings made up the estate, a main building where the more quaint homely features of a kitchen, dining room, bedrooms and main lobby made up the building.

The other large house was the Kurokami main building. It was simply composed of a large dojo and a meeting room right next to it. The second building was never Ui's favorite one, she spent her entire life in that building training and praying in the temple and taking lessons from the caretakers, she never really had a lot of chances to spend a lot of time outside these two buildings. When she told her parents that she wanted to become the heiress of the clan her parents were ecstatic, since then she had to devote her life to the Kurokami clan. It was annoying, but right now it was worth it!

The main building was occupied right now. Several leaders of the samurai clans were sitting at the meeting table, the spot at the head of the table was empty and a cup of tea with a piece of bread sat right at the table. The samurai leaders and their respective bodyguards shifted uncomfortably. Who couldn't blame them? Their hostess and the reason they are here had gone outside to take a "short break" as she had put it. Ui had always hated the heat, and the cold for that manner, and being stuck in that stuffy room for 3 hours talking about politics and the war was booring!

Although Ui had certainly studied politics as a child to prepare her for the role of the heiress she always hated it. It was so uninteresting and just bland! All Ui wanted to do was play with Yahiko all day, but even then she couldn't do that! She had to go out in the main village to meet the people and speak with people, then she had to meet with daimyos to talk about the economic stability provided by the Kurokami clan, then she had to go out west over to China to meet with some foreigners about the commerce plan Ui had to lay out the night before and they rejected it! Politics were annoying, why did she have to go through with it every single day?

But right now, Ui didn't have a care in the world. After suddenly standing up during the meeting to declare a recess Ui had skipped outside, grabbed her 2 year old son and headed out to the garden to play. It was rather humid so Ui had stayed alongside the river to keep cool. The garden was beautiful as lush greenery carpeted the space. Flowers of all different magnitudes were planted here, Ui didn't know the names or what they were but she didn't care. The pretty pink ones had outlined the perimeter of the garden, the bright loud yellow ones had been perched up high in the trees to make it look like it was sunny all the time, a large tree with purple leaves stood in the middle of the garden and provided excellent shade from the sweltering sun. Little squirrels had come along to play and the Kurokami family pet; Usa-chan - a small black and white cat - was sleeping lazily underneath the large tree.

Ui and her son were running around in the garden laughing giddily. Ui had deliberately tripped so that baby Yacchi could jump on her stomach. Hugging the small child to her chest Ui giggled and rolled around in the grass, her pink kimono was getting a bit messy and her hair - which took hours to fix up all nice and pretty - had become undone. Ui had refused make-up but instead had opted for a hair-clip that smelled like sandalwood tied to her hair.

"Yacchi!"
"Okaachan!"
"Yacchi!"
"Okaachan!"

The two repeated that to each other as they rolled around giggling without a care in the world.

Meanwhile back in the actual meeting, Ui's personal caretaker - and childhood friend - Kanata was standing in the meeting room with a sheepish smile on her face as she peered out the window to look at Ui and baby Yacchi rolling around in the garden.

"Would anyone like some more tea?" Ui had a strange talent of making her seem bad in front of everyone especially since the main purpose of this meeting was to appease to the samurai to undergo a more diplomatic tactic in dealing with the war. Two caretakers had came outside to get Ui but she saw it as a game and ran away from them jumping over the small river with baby Yacchi on her shoulders.

This may not go as planned...

As lively as ever ...man, she doesn't change.

A loving father and husband watched from afar as the two most precious things in his world were playing in the distance, rolling around in the garden as if one of them didn't have major responsibilities at the moment. They were in the midst of war, and it was his own idea to invite the other samurai clans, those that cared, to come and discuss diplomacy. This war was costly, and if anymore blood was spilled, the rivers might run red by the end of the year. For Yahiko Watanabe, this momentary peace wasn't good enough. Of course he knew of how this all began, and while there was speculation that the samurai meant to kill the ninja in that duel, Yahiko saw it as no more than an accident. No one was alive to prove anything that happened that day.

Why not join them? It's so cute~

Later, this is important ..to be young again.

Oh stop it, your not even twenty five yet and your acting like your fifty!

Well ever since Ui got pregnant, I've had to be just a little more mature, ya know?

I understand ..come on, wouldn't want to keep those people waiting~

Mikomi was a family heirloom, and potentially a Watanabe herself before she died. Why she lost her body, she never explains to most, but before she lost her life, she had entered her own blade and kept her ki, and likely even her soul, within it. While she was a careful observer and had wisdom at key times, she was also quite the romantic and loved placing him in many situations with his own wife. It was warm out, even warmer inside and he politely excused himself while he retrieved his wife, who could not be reached due to her running away from everyone who tried to get her. Ui was a handful in so many ways, he'd collapse from counting. She'd sneak into her own kitchen, around her own cooks, to eat her own food. What was the point?

"Daddy?" Looking up at her father with half-closed eyes, a young girl wearing a small white t-shirt and small brown shorts. In her left hand she clutched a teddy bear's arm, and it was slightly dragged along the ground on the way here. Her eyes were as smooth a hazel as her parents, and her brown hair was in a bit of a mess. Wasn't like her mother helped her brush it. It was starting to get long and was already down her back. While she was only two years old and her hair growth was miraculous, her father had mostly told her that her mother had caused the growth. Ui, however, never noticed. Two years old, yet such lengthy and beautiful hair.

Maybe one day she'd notice ...one day...

Rubbing her right eye with her right hand, Mikomi still felt tired from her lengthy nap, but it was a little warm and her mommy wasn't anywhere to be found.

Turning around and finding his small, precious daughter just behind him, Yahiko knelt down and pulled her into a hug enthusiastically. "Heeey, you're awake! And already walking around on your own, who's a big girl?" Yahiko chose to praise his children for even the smallest of tasks. Compared to Yachiro, Mikomi, his daughter, was a lot more withdrawn. She was just as fun to be with, but she did enjoy her fair share of quiet and liked taking naps frequently. When his daughters hands went around his neck, Yahiko instinctively grabbed her and picked her up, looking at her and seeing her tiny lips form into a smile.

"I am!" Mikomi responded childishly, pulling her left arm back to hug her teddy bear with one arm. Past her father, she could see her mommy and brother rolling around in the distance. Yahiko followed his daughter's eyes and turned around.

"Honey, break time is over!"

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

Ui was perched on top of a tree while the two care-takers stood at the base of the tree trying to talk her down. Ui was giddily smiling and sticking their tongue out at them, "Nu! Ui-chan doesn't want to do silly old politics!" Ui laughed then Yachiro laughed alongside her. Although Ui didn't want to do annoying little work she didn't want Yachiro to learn any bad habits from her, patting Yachiro's head he looked at her curiously. Then, brimming with confidence, Ui gave him a thumbs-up.

"All work and no play makes people dull baby Yacchi, but you can never deviate from your duty!" Yachiro gave her a bright smile and when Yahiko came out with baby Micchan Ui immediately leaped from the tree, her eyes were intent on baby Mikomi in the arms of Yahiko.

Aiming at Yahiko he braced himself instinctively, baby Yacchi on Ui's shoulders laughed as they neared their target. Then as she was mere inches she shifted in mid-air and turned in a somersault and with surgeon-like precision Ui gently plucked baby Mikomi from Yahiko's arms. She turned as Mikomi shifted in her arms and rolled perfectly into the grass as to not harm the children and all three of them fell into the grass giggling. Ui hugged them tightly and the two instinctively burrowed their little faces in their mother's neck.

"So cutee!" Ui said as she nuzzled her cheek against Mikomi's, then turning to baby Yacchi she nuzzled her cheek against his, "I don't think it is possible to have children so cute!"

Ui kissed Mikomi's cheeks then she kissed baby Yacchi's cheeks. After a good 2 minutes of hugging and cuddling Ui stood up and let her kids run back into the arms of the caretakers who led them back into house, it was time for their afternoon lessons. Ui stood up and smiled sheepishly at Yahiko and scratched her head, "Hehe, sorry, I can't help myself around them."

Yahiko had an understanding look on his face and the two headed back to the building to get back to the meeting. Ui sat at the head of the table and smiled innocently at the group, "Gomene, I got a little carried away, hehe." She scratched cutely at the back of her head and a caretaker came by and handed Ui another piece of sweet bread to which she happily began to munch on.

"So, so, what were we talking about again?"

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

[Earlier In the Day

Inside a home, there were six woman situated in the main family room. One was placed in the center, her arms outstretched, an empty expression on her face. Another woman was combing through the first girl's ridiculously long hair, making sure that there was neither split hair nor knots. Yet another woman was tying the obi around the girl's waist, pulling tight and making a fuss. Two women were busy making sure that the girl's face was flawless; plucking any hair out of place, applying creams to make sure her skin looked flawless. The last woman was standing away from the group, her eyes on each and every one of them. With a single clap of her hands, the women dispersed, leaving only the girl in the middle.

With a small, exhaled breath, the girl's face bore a very small, very gentle smile as she put her arms down, though gave a small wave. Every other woman fled the room, and the girl sat on her legs, back straight, and waited.

Not a moment too soon afterwards, a voice called, "Aisuru, come before your mother."

The girl immediately stood and exited the room, giving a small bow before the two in front of her. The two's eyes seemed to look at every single little detail, and it seemed they were satisfied. The woman broke into a smile and approached her daughter. "Perfect." She spoke, patting her daughter's cheek. "Be sure to keep that problem of yours under control."

The smile faded almost immediately, replaced by a look of curiousity. "What problem, mother?"

Met with a rather fierce glare, Aisuru's smile came back. "That one."

"I promise you, I'll be good." Aisuru replied, picking a stray hair from her mother's kimono, holding it up. "Hmm...Mother, I think Yuri is slipping."

"I feel sorry for the man that has to put up with you."

"And I, too." She replied, letting go of the hair and watching it fall to the floor.

An odd conversation for sure, but this was typical for their family. First, Lady Kusabana would speak. Afterwards Aisuru would. Then a small defiance, a fed up Kusabana, and a smirking Aisuru. Playing the part of obedient daughter was something that she only played outside the house; there was no need for her to have to do so when at her own home, especially considering that it was hers.

"Michiko, my umbrella." Aisuru called, though the change in her voice was astounding; no longer snarky, not the slightest hint of defiance, she had managed to put on that sweet, frail voice that was so alluring.

"Where are you going?" Kusabana asked, raising an eyebrow.

As the maid handed Aisuru her umbrella, she looked back at her mother curiously. "It's such a lovely day, I believe I'll take a small stroll before we leave." Aisuru replied, her cheeks gaining a slight blush as she spoke. "I promise, it'll be short."

"Were the gods to reward you for being able to put on such a fake persona, I fear for us all." Kusabana said dryly.

Aisuru smiled back at her mother, opening her umbrella as she stepped outside. It really was beautiful, though the sun was just the slightest bit too bright for her. As promised, she would make her walk short, but really, she just needed some air.

_____

The meeting was, as most were, dreadfully uneventful. Some people talked, others shouted, most just listened as they were into their own thoughts on the situation. Surely they would be able to come to a unified conclusion? Aisuru sincerely hoped so; maybe then could Japan actually start going somwhere rather than getting caught in pointless wars. Perhaps they weren't as pointless as she assumed, but still--conflict was something that, despite what most would say, was utterly unneccesary.

Would the ever awaited peace arrive?

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

"Man, they locked this place down pretty tightly.." a young adult kunoichi muttered, having recently entered the property of the Kurokami clan. Rika was surprised how small the window was to slip past, as the sentries had their eyes well trained, enough to catch the smallest of leaves disturbed. It had taken her one hour to find a window, they were that good. Watanabe clan perhaps? Bah, it didn't matter. She didn't come alone though, Rika had a team of other ninja with her. Despite her protests of handling it alone, her mother thought it best she did end up going with other clan ninja who were planning something like this. As of now, she was just above the room where the clans were meeting, in a small attic-like area that was pretty empty except the obvious pillars. It was hot as hell in here, but it couldn't be helped. After how long it took to get in, they couldn't leave without something!

Along the way in, she had managed to see the one calling the meeting playing with her little boy. Rika smiled at the gesture, and was glad that she, Ui Kurokami, wasn't just another stiff samurai with a sheath up her rear. Currently Rika was on her back, waving a small paper pan near her face to keep cool. She did it enough to get a small breeze but it was silent enough to not be heard. Some samurai were sensitive to disturbances in the air, and some had some amazing hearing. Many of the more powerful clans were at this meeting, and from the sounds down there, it sounded like Kurokami was back from playing with her children.

"Let's hear it~" Rika whispered, half daring to take off some of this armor. Man, if only there was a window in here.

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

Yosuke sat crouched atop the Kurokami estate. It was an idiotic position, anyone with half a brain cell that was capable of looking up would be able to spot him with ease. It was almost insulting for him to sit at such an easy spot, but despite all of the risk Yosuke figured another bird's eye scan of the vicinity couldn't hurt. Rika would never forgive him if he got everyone caught and killed. Wait, that didn't sound right. A random sentry looked up at Yosuke's location only to find the day sky staring back at him.

He sighed as he sat within the shadows of a tree. It was too damned risky to be doing anything at the moment, Yosuke was supposed to recon the area while Rika and the others were suppose to eavesdrop and gather intel. But security was tight, Yosuke had expected double the guards and sentries considering that multiple high-ranking samurai were in one little spot that was easily accessible, but there was far too many! It was irritating since Yosuke was basically stuck outside, there was no way to get back inside without alerting everyone else and risking the positions of everyone else.

It was decided, Yosuke walked around the edge of the estate heading for the back into the garden. If anything Yosuke won't stay still like an idle buffoon, he got himself into a bad situation he may as well get something positive about it. He leaped up on the large tree in the garden and spied through a window although his view was limited, he wanted to confirm who was there and who wasn't, Rika had the job of gathering intel, Yosuke needed to just make sure everyone who was there was there. Should be pretty easy right? Well, as long as he doesn't get noticed.

He shifted uncomfortably in the tree, although he was a sei ki user and didn't emit any ki it was possible for someone to sense him with ease. Although samurais were generally sei users as well so maybe he'll be fine, plus even if he got caught he had an escape route prepared.

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

Watching his wife play and laugh with their children made all of the stress this meeting would have, disappear for the moment. They loved their mother, but each were vastly different. Mikomi preferred sleeping to actually running around for hours at a time. If he were to guess, Mikomi would be like him, but with her mother's beauty and playful qualities. Yachiro would be a wild card, but he'd place bets on his son being just like his mother. He hoped there was a balance to be found. Ui had gone from professional with her look, to a child, but she didn't care for the opinions of others too much. Yahiko respected her urge to be herself.

"I understand." he responded, nodding his head in it when Ui had apologized. The kids were taken by caretakers they trusted. They were young, but were still intelligent enough to grasp some of what they learned. Right now, he believed they were learning definitions to key words in this day and age. Following Ui back inside, he agreed her silently. All work and no play, made for unhappy children, especially with such a wild mother.

As Ui should have done, she apologized for her absense and a caretaker had given her some sweet bread to tide her over for the time being. Yahiko stood to her right, not taking his seat, but instead planning to move things along before anyone got impatient with her.

"Ahem.." Yahiko cleared his throat and looked among many of those invited here, some old and fanning themselves, some middle aged and looking at Ui as if asking 'how did you get this job?'. Perhaps it was Ui's fearsome combat skill reputation that prevented them from questioning her, or perhaps it was because he'd deal with anyone swiftly if they talked down to her, but no one said a word.

Folding his arms across his chest, the Watanabe heir took the lead.

"I believe we were discussing where we all stood in this war, and I speak on behalf of the Watanabe clan when I say that we want peace, its been due for decades now and I think the hatred on both sides should cease. Enough blood has been spilled." Yahiko paused, receiving mixed looks. Some looked pleased, others surprise, and some even looking enraged.

"I knew the Watanabe were kind hearted, but I didn't expect you to be out of your mind. The shinobi want us all dead, it's only right that we meet them head on, and exterminate every last one of them before they--" A balding man from the Toshiba clan spoke out against Yahiko. They were a powerful clan as all present here were in some form, and they always stood out in the conflict, and many of their warriros became Shogun to eradicate their enemies for good.

"It was over five decades ago that the conflict first started and its only right that we, the generation here, put an end to it. We've all had our casualties, and I think its best we make peace so we don't keep passing this hatred to our children." Not wanting to hear that man speak for the moment, Yahiko picked out another, wanting her opinion.

"Lady Hosakawa, you've been silent for much of this meeting, I'd like your opinion on the subject of this war, and how we'd proceed."

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

Ui grumbled as she chewed on her sweet bread halfheartedly, it wasn't that she was enjoying it but it was just she was a bit annoyed at this point. She kept her glare fixed on head of the Toshiba clan. She was a bit irate since he suddenly decided to badmouth Yahiko and his clan. She gripped her sword so hard her knuckles turned white, blood-lust overwhelmed her. There was nothing more that she wanted than that man's death.

She sighed reluctantly. It wasn't like she could just killed him immediately, it would make this entire meeting useless and annoy the Toshiba clan. Since she was a child she was trained to be able to gauge an opponent's strength by looking at their eyes, this guy was powerful but Ui's confidence told her she could handle him easily. He probably had trouble with hip-thrusts with the way he held himself. The Toshiba clan, while politically powerful, were a bit apathetic when it came to internal affairs. Ui knew that if this one died that they could replace him easily. But still, Ui glanced at Yahiko and sighed. Yahiko wouldn't like Ui killing anyone here.

Pouting she continued to chew on her sweetbread. She would have to have a talk with the Toshiba head soon. Something about etiquette. Ui finished her sweetbread and leaned back on her hands. It had only been five minutes and she was already bored, why did she have to deal with this? These old fools wouldn't want to hear anything about peace or diplomacy, they think of the younger generation as a bunch of prissies for even suggesting that idea. They are so rigid with their beliefs this war could last past Ui's time even. She shuddered to think about the idea of her kids being involved.

For the sake of everyone and for her kids Ui needed to make sure a peaceful end would happen.

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

"Seems like a pretty typical meeting." Ayame commented with a sigh. Sitting in a space above the meeting with Rika, it seemed to only be getting hotter and hotter. Wiping a few beads of sweat from her forehead she laid down and stared at the ceiling, then listening intently to the meeting. Hearing Watanabe speak, she couldn't help but frown.

"Just wait, one of those old geezers will shoot him down..." She muttered to Rika. Sure enough, the head of the Toshiba clan spoke up, berating Yahiko for making a suggestion of peace. She didn't think he was wrong, in fact she believed the only reason this war was still going was because of how stubborn most of the clan heads were. But hey, what could she do about it? All she could do at the moment was follow orders.
"Looks like we'll be heading home with no new news..."

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

The heat was getting Aisuru uncomfortable, but she didn't dare show it. Rather, she lazily waved a small paper fan that really didn't help much. As the meeting went on, she resisted the urge to just get up and leave. To say that it was boring would've been an understatement; it was dreadful. An unexpected event did happen that she didn't see coming;

Someone asked her for her opinion.

Raising her head to the source, she gave a small cough, a little smile following. Her eyes landed on the head of the Toshiba Clan, and she only chuckled to herself. "My lord, forgive me, but isn't that kind of thinking what got us into the war in the first place?" She asked quite innocently, though she paused to take a strand of hair that was out of place to tuck it behind her ear.

"If the bloodstained earth itself is proof of our past, then we must look to the future with earnest hope." She nodded at the Yahiko, and turned back to the rest of them. "And for that future, for the generations to come, let us turn the other cheek. An attempt at peace may very well be everyone's common ground."

She cleared her throat a bit, the heat getting to the point where she could taste it. Disgusting... She though unpleasantly, though her face still had that serene look as she smiled at the Watanabe heir. "That is my opinion, my lord."

Re: 無限の流血-無限の憎しみ- (Endless Bloodshed; Infinite Hatred)

Ui leaned back and placed her hands behind her head in a particularly bored fashion. All this talk of peace and the possibility of ending the war with a more pleasant outcome than leaving the earth stained crimson was more than enough to provide an incentive for Ui to pay attention. However things never really worked out that way did they?

If it was so easy to end the war like this then their predecessors would have done it ages ago. Those old farts who only know that they should maintain their techniques and their sword to be as sharp as their swords would never end a war like this. Ui had only read about the start of the war, it was over a silly problem but it erupted into a huge deal. Two grand leaders of each respective side was killed in an attempt for peace. That is always incentive for war. Ui shivered when she thought of their power, it was said that those two were extraordinarily powerful, immeasurable even. Ui couldn't imagine two powerful warriors being in one room talking about peace, that was as ridiculous as the idea of the Kurokami elders coming together for a festival, that would never happen.

The start of the war is irrelevant at this point. No one is there to prove or disprove what really happened. What mattered now was what they were going to do about this war. As much as Ui adored keeping up with her techniques and training she hated the prospect of fighting. And despite this moment of peace Ui hasn't really had a chance to combat any ninjas really. A disappointing fact but one Ui was proud of, she couldn't imagine dying in battle and leaving her kids. As far as Ui was concerned her life was meaningless if she was unable to protect those she loved.

Ui raised a hand absentmindedly and a caretaker walked over and opened a window allowing a nice little breeze to push through the room to perhaps make things a bit more comfortable. It was extremely dangerous to do this, Ui had ordered everything to quite literally be sealed up tight in case any spies were in the midst. Leaving even one window open could jeopardize everyone in the room. The caretaker looked at Ui who gave her an emotionless look. Startled slightly the caretaker spun back around and closed the window further to leave but a small crack. Smiling at the caretaker she bowed politely and took her leave.

"The prospect of peace may appeal to us but not to others and even though we don't have any shinobi representing the assassins I can be sure that it would not appeal to them as well." Ui sighed as the heat began to overwhelm her again, she opened her dress slightly to air out her chest, "Even if we were to find a majority for peace we can't exactly run into the Iga providence with a white flag.

"The idea of peace is admirable and certainly excellent to strive for isn't the issue here. It is how we can achieve this peace that we want."

The head of the Toshiba clan scoffed.

"Oh? Do you have something to say?" Ui turned towards him and the room became still. It was highly inappropriate for a samurai to be disrespectful towards the host, he would need to watch his words as he was already on Ui's bad side.

"It seems the pretty bird is more than she appears." He chuckled lightly as he turned his icy glare to her, "But a deaf bird cannot hope to sing as beautiful as others. Your clan is quite impressive Kurokami," he said that with such contempt it almost pained him to say it, "But you are far too naive. What does a child know of leading a clan? Or the pain of war? You are much too kindhearted Kurokami." He turned towards Yahiko, "The same can be said about your darling over ther-"

Clink. The sound of a sword being drawn and brandished silenced the room. The Toshiba head froze as Ui suddenly appeared right behind him with the tip of her sword being held against his neck. His two bodyguards leaped to action and aimed their short swords at Ui but were stopped when two caretakers drew their swords against them. The Toshiba head smiled as he looked up at Ui.

"Such a lighthearted thrust Kurokami." He commented on the attack Ui had initiated before standing, his formal robes were sliced at his shoulder leaving a huge gash that bared his right arm, otherwise it hadn't pierced his skin.

"I would ask that you refrain from such disrespectful comments aimed towards the Watanabe clan." Ui said coldly, "I will not hesitate to cease such talk from an old man. And if you wish you say something be straightforward about it, no need for these proverbs."

Ui sheathed her sword and calmly walked back to her seat. His bodyguards relaxed as her caretakers went back to their positions as well. The Toshiba head began to laugh until he noticed that the table was cut as well. A thin slice within the table that led right up to his crotch but stopped there, even his cup of tea was cut right in half. He broke out in a cold sweat, he had noticed Ui's first attack but not the others. Her speed was inhumane.
