Just want to ask a question: What is it about Roxas that makes him such a good character?
To be honest, what attracts me to Roxas is the difference between him and all of the usual characters. I find some people like the nice, sweet, goody-two shoes who will sacrifice themselves for the greater good and all (the typical ideal of a hero, the predictable ones who you'll guess their choice long before it happens), while I love the flawed ones the most because it's more grounded in reality (and their decisions can separate either path). People are selfish. People are angry. And people do have faults. And the kid's more or less one embodiment of it. I like that he's short-tempered, I like that he's aggressive, I like that he doesn't take other's people's shit, I like that he can be a jerk sometimes, I like that he can mouth off and say what's on his mind, I like that he can really be mean if he tries, I like that he can be blind, and ignoring the murder of Days, I liked that he didn't just wait for things to happen while he does nothing. At the same time, I like that he can be kind, I like that he can enjoy himself, I like that he can be calm, I like when he's insightful sometimes, I like that he, in all honesty, is a good boy all around who's rough around the edges when things aren't under his control and life throws a curveballl at him every time to screw him. When he's your friend, he's your friend, unless you're shady. There's just a lot of layers. And it makes sense that he's the opposite of Sora. In the same manner that Roxas expresses what he truly feels, while Sora locks it in. Personally, he got the answers he wanted at the end. Why Sora is all important and special, why he had to give up his life for him, and what it would be like from now on giving up his independent existence. He's happy and accepted all of it, but I'm certain there will always be this longing, this wistfulness, for things to return the way they were - his own life, his own friends, etc. (I think this is his problem, and therefore, his torment)
In other words, audiences can relate to him.
Not many would like the negative aspects of his personality, but that's what makes him interesting. I don't know...he's just compelling like that.
He's also badass and I find him hotter than Sora. I had to add something shallow to this, sorry, lol. We all have that.
