Honestly, he just experimented with the darkness. Was he bad before? No. He filled his heart with the darkness, became a heartless, where his HEARTLESS abused the power. Xemnas, just wanted to get a heart, so, though this was said before, he was not bad. Just the heartless.

First of all, my theory is based around the whole "xion is soras memory of kairi" theory. I belive this theory to be true because of her hair. Since 358/2 takes place before CoM, sora's memory of kairi, her hair is this way. I'll get to why I think its dark later. Now, what happened to xion...

Well to put it simply, Xion + Roxas + Namin'e= Sora and Kairi. Why I think this is because kairi was never a heartless,but, because her heart was stolen by ansem, she created a nobody who is xion, which is why xion said she is a "special" nobody, because, like roxas, her other part was...
