Why should they remake a game from the Xehanort Saga? It doesn’t make sense. KH3 ReMind finished the Xehanort Saga and we are ready for new games with a fresh story.

They could make a new game with Roxas as a playable character but I wouldn’t expect any old games to be remade.
Because the serie still need to be accessible to newcomers. And I personally feel that the movies scream "cut content here and cut content there" with these weird text summary that break the immersion. In days, you need to play the actual missions to understand how eating ice cream is rewarding. In re:coded, the fun aspect (there isn't much) is to explore worlds you already know looking for bugs. The movies are a good summary, but that's all they are: summaries. A serie complex like Kingdom Hearts, where all episode are mandatory deserves more than summaries for its storytelling.

Days is honestly one of my favourite games in the series (the magic mechanic was a bit weak), and I thought Re:Coded was okay in terms of gameplay. But yeah, if we got a full PS2-3 graphic version (or better yet one with Unreal Engine) I wouldn't kick it out of bed.

It would be absolutely great if they could port or remake the DS games. I don’t think any of us should hold our breath about one happening or ever expect it to happen.

There is way more value in trying to get the new saga started than there is in revisiting older games.
Of course. On the business side it would make no sense. But so did re: Chain of Memories. Maybe that's why I secretely hope. They went for crazy ideas like that in the past. But it was a long time ago and I don't think we will ever see that happen again.

I want nothing more then a Days remake, but I agree. I want to see what's going on in the new saga, and see new games for the series. So we have to go forward for now.

I would like to play Days on a tv, though I'd appreciate a thorough edit. Not that I'd want any dialogue cut, but some of those missions... and status effects... there are just a lot of ways the experience could be enhanced. I did love fiddling around with the gear grid, though.
I also wouldn't mind the Days movie simply being expanded, with a few more action scenes and interactions with the other Organizers, and text segments removed so it feels like a real movie or series.

Can you just stop posting?

I for one appreciate Cumguardian's perspective. His frustration with the series ain't for no reason.

All of us have various criticisms, not all of us rant about how square enix and nomura ruined the series forever!!!!111 in every single post whenever literally anything happens.

Agreed. Not that I’m being Nomura’s white knight or anything, but I doubt the series would exist as it is without him. He’s the director after all.

And to whoever else is whining, don’t give me any of that “other better directors” bull, because an elevator pitch just stays an elevator pitch until someone with skill and experience brings it to reality. I’ve had enough of that ridiculous banter in Reddit. Better to put money where the mouth is than complain all the time.

I relent that Nomura really crams too many elements for a coherent plot though, and so some of the game’s mysteries has become a jumbled mess. His indecisiveness is also bad…

I think a big takeaway is that during 1.5's production, they wanted to do a full remake, but couldn't for various reasons. I, too, want a Re: Days badly, but the ship has unfortunately sailed for now. If it ever came around again, I would hope they'd make it easier on themselves and just work with the assets used for the theatre mode.

Maybe it's just me, but I find bullying someone over their opinions (with a moderator endorsing such comments, no less) to be far more toxic than someone venting their disappointments about a franchise we ALL know deserves better care.

I didn't want to make a big deal of this and derail the thread, I was just fed up, but if you think this is about "their opinions" I think you have a bad understanding of this entire picture.

To be clear, the problem is not the opinions, it's making every single post an egregiously caustic rant about those opinions no matter how off-topic they are, but it's ridiculous that this should even have to be explained especially after my last post basically spelled this out.

I mean, I can see from a moderator's perspective how a user with cropped Spyro porn as their avatar, a broad sweeping criticism of the franchise in their signature that better summarizes their feelings than most of their actual posts, and a username like 'cumguardian69' might be anywhere between a headache and a migraine. The constant whinging gets old and I say that as a professional yum-yucker

Playing devil’s advocate that while I do say anyone who thinks they or some other director they tout can do better and should put their money where their mouth is, I also agree with the above sentiment.

The movies were just summaries and not a good way to explain some elements (case in point: the mission that required us to place the devices that would eventually give Xion her different boss forms). To put it kindly, in my case, it did not endear certain concepts to me when I watched it because I didn’t have the DS and just watched the movie. The introduction of this and that felt off, and instead of actually liking those things, I eventually just accepted them because they’re there and that’s what Nomura wanted, but now that it’s all resolved, I don’t care if we ever see them again or not.

Hey y'all I found this cool feature where you can ignore a user. Click on their account and hit ignore.

Also something, something Nomura is a hack.

There’s not enough Xanaxes and appletinis in the world to tolerate this bickering…

Some want a porting of the DS games, fine, their wishes are valid. Some don’t, because there are perfectly acceptable reasons too, like graphical fidelity, consistency, new saga, etc.

If it happens, it happens, if it doesn’t, then it doesn’t.

I think everyone would like a port of the DS games, it's just that it's very unlikely at this point and it would take time and resources that make more sense to be used on other things now. Nobody's actually arguing about that at all?

While I'd love a Days remake, I'm also just really happy to have learned of a way to replay Days with visuals that more closely resemble my memory induced upscaling.

I agree with others saying it's unlikely at this point, if anything it should have been a project they'd realized in the 7 years between DDD and KH3. The fact that they didn't do it then, while mainly just porting the existing games for years, makes me think that ship has sailed for the time being.

On that note, I'm going to close this discussion because this isn't going to go any further than where it's gone.

Also, please everybody. Utilize the ignore feature. It's there to be used if there is a particular user you do not want to see posts from.
