It is, but with The Warlock starting, I thought it might be appropriate to begin the Lexicon to start laying out some lore. While the story is indeed smaller than the others, there will still be several lore-heavy components that the Lexicon would be useful to have ready for, such as Morcado's detailed history, Maria, the Obsidian Champions, the Alabaster Saints, the Gods' War, etc. Obviously with the Gods' War, we won't include everything from the start, as it is simply too massive an event, but like Morcado's dealings and the bare bone events.

With "The Warlock" about to launch and a second chapter added to "The Gallant," do you feel it is an appropriate time to begin our "Nightfall Lexicon?"

DID YOU FINISH READING A MEMORY OF LIGHT?

You know me - I'm stop-start with many projects so I'm hesitant to give any particular timeline for such a project. I'd definitely try and make it into a roleplay, but what I need more than anything is a way to create the various worlds and settings that don't require me to be around constantly directing activity, unless we let each roleplayer dictate the insular societies of individual moons and/or planets. It'd be great to inspire a sense of mystery and wonder, but I'd love for it to happen on its own virtues, rather than it just being 'whoa a big ancient piece of tech' or 'whats that moon doing crashing down'. If anything I might request a bit of help with semi-literal world-building.

Nearly everything does fit, indeed. And yes, we'll have the nurses roll our wheelchairs up to laugh at the Derp Soles mountain dew dorito gamers.

THIRTY PAGES - WHY NO FINISH

So I threw Game of Thrones with sci-fi and then also a bit of dark souls and i came up with a premise based on the mid/inner solar system sealing itself off from a self-replicating nano-virus with a dyson sphere, but after many many many years the inhabitants lost their understanding of their technology but could still at least use it, and in fear every planet/moon kind of becomes this little isolated ivory tower of a world that ultimately suffers under their own self-imposed tyrrany, lack of resources and the like

meanwhile on the inside of the gigantic shell are low/no-tech clans that sort of wander about dothraki-like until a moon falls away from one of the interior planets and lands on the surface, to which all the clans then spend generations moving towards in an effort to fulfil some long-ago genetically-imprinted imperative but when the player-character clan gets there there are dozens of others in a perpetual war trying to find a way in so for us it becomes a little like the battle for erebor once we get in and seal it off/lift it up and then it's a sightseeing tour inwards towards the sun and we drop into a few planets in various states of decay as we slowly uncover the truth of what happened eons ago and whats happening right now: the assimilating nanovirus is using the shell as a staging post for infecting the whole solar system so by the end we the player-characters have the choice of maintaining our guaranteed security, or self-destructing the sun and dyson sphere in an effort to cripple/kill the nanovirus base

passive nanites that are in everything function as souls

while mundane weapons about the devices left over from the functional days would be almost like magic (or at least enchanted gear)

how does that all sound

reminds me a little of sanguine heart transposed to sci-fi too

I was honestly hoping - because they look so different to DkS - that they were in fact just misattributed pieces of concept art. I really hope the criticism is taken into account :c

Exactly. Regardless of how good a book is, the threat of being forced to analyse it can inevitably suck the enjoyment out of reading it. Of course, you want to analyse a truly good book regardless.

The True Power itself didn't cause Ishamael to go mad entirely - it was mostly being released from the Sealed Bore at forty year intervals that caused him to go mad, in my opinion. He wasn't affected like Aginor and Balthamel who were close to the Seal, being ground down until they were old and practically walking zombies due to Ishamael being released every forty years and allowed to walk in the world instead of being in suspended animation.

It can be assumed Ishamael was released from the Sealed Bore a short time after Lews Therin and his Hundred Companions sealed the Bore with their attack on Shayol Ghul - from there he more or less directed what was left of the Shadow's rapidly scattering armies, and after forty years, wound up back in the Bore, which led to Latra Posae Decume (the female Aes Sedai who initially opposed Lews Therin's plan to Seal the Bore, and opted for the building of the Choedan Kal, in order to erect a shield around Shayol Ghul, so the Aes Sedai could discuss and figure out what to do next - the foolish woman) uniting fragments of the Light's military and etc., earning for herself the name Shadar Nor.

Ishamael most likely began operating as Ba'alzamon sometime before the Trolloc Wars; thus, by the time The Eye of the World begins, between using the True Power, and being released from the Sealed Bore every forty years, mostly everyone seems to think Ishamael is the Dark One (because if it's repeated often and its mysterious/unknown to the populace, aka if enough people believe it, that belief will spread), including Ishamael himself.

Ba'alzamon becomes synonymous with the Dark One, despite it only meaning "Heart of the Dark" in the Trolloc tongue.



And no sane person could bluster and blather the way he did - that is, unless, one looks at Lews Therin.

And yes, Moridin has been completely out of his mind, especially as Moridin - he wasn't as much of a nihilistically madman when he was Ishamael, but then again, we never really saw him up close during that incarnation of him, more or less.

A Clockwork Orange, basically. Not really anything else, in all honesty. I mean, sure, it's a good book, but... well... school inevitably seems to make me hate books I'd otherwise love. Darn the system.

Playing good games, ignoring the possibility that I will one day attend college, and procrastinating on reading good books.

Because you should really get with the times.

Because I'm planning on going 'what the hell why not' and making a roleplay in Drake's original world, I just need help brainstorming it and mechanics or whatever else a little better, and I find with you and Omni I can do that pretty readily. I've already got Porfy and Ashes Remnant (who I brainstorm with pretty good) on Skype so I thought of dragging in others.
