Well, I can only speak for myself and my family; we each thought it was simply House's meddling, nothing more. I sincerely doubt that someone would be so rude and ignorant as to judge based on a television show about a misanthrope.
I can definitely see how the episode could be misconstrued, though, and I respect your concerns.
However . . . I saw the episode, not you.
Your only source of information is a group of people who are accustomed to being dismissed.
I can say--dismissing all of my love for the show--that there was no such implication. Perhaps I'm just not as sensitive to this matter, but I never felt that anybody (except for House) considered asexuality less than a valid orientation. Wilson even said, "It's like telling a gay person that he's actually been heterosexual this whole time."
