Y'know, I feel the reason why Twilight Town wasn't as big as 2, was because most of the areas didn't seem...essential to Sora's travels. Nice for exploration and all, but...when you think about it, Sora's visits to Twilight Town, in literally every game he had the chance to go, have been...really short. Even in Chain of Memories, lol.

As a lifelong fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas, I feel KH hasn't quite nailed it yet. I'm nitpicking at a lot of things here. KH1 certainly had the spookiness down, but visually it's off. More of a purple pastiche. The jack-o-lantern wall installations in the town square are too cutesy, almost like they were added for levity. KH2 was visually much more accurate to the movie, but I want more to explore. I wanna waltz through the whole town, cemetery, and hinterlands, see inside town hall and Jack's house. I don't even need Christmas.

They haven't fully realized the potential of Oogie's blacklit neon torture casino. We still haven't seen him green! There could be a full winding dungeon beneath the town (expanded, as the treehouse was in KH1), or the aesthetic could bubble up and take over the town itself, along with swarms of creepy-crawly Heartless. Oogie is also literally the Boogieman, a very fitting symbol for a series about the darkness that lurks in the heart. He's also just a bunch of bugs in the end, a visual metaphor not unlike the ant-like Shadows.

Another important thing to me is the field theme. It doesn't need to be This Is Halloween, and shouldn't be. The everyday mood in Halloween Town is more melancholy and eerie. It's not a thumping celebration all the time. Sally's Song is a more appropriate leitmotif for the town, but something original by Shimomura that matches the mood of the score would be just as welcome. A jazzy theme just for Oogie's lair would be excellent.

Seeing more of the bizarre residents of the town would be nice. I would like to see the clown tear off his face, then reach inside for an item. If there was ever a movie to devote extra attention to the NPCs, it's this one. Frankly, it's the best Disney property KH has to work with. Even the Heartless feel at home in Halloween Town. At this point, they have the technology to realize the town as it was in the movie, exactly. What an insane privilege that would be. Halloween Town (and Wonderland) should be a series mainstay. It complements the psychedelia of the original worlds perfectly, and is a more "humble gothic" so it wouldn't necessitate not also including a grand gothic castle world, even if they're both spookyworlds. It would also be nice to see the town during the day (especially at sunrise), or even covered in snow!

The developers not being able to think up a good story for the world is no excuse, as that has not stopped them before. Nomura said this is one of his favorite worlds, so here's hoping it makes a comeback, better than ever.

Also. Jack, as a curious cat who delights in the exotic, should get the chance to travel through the barrier to see other worlds. Screw the world order.

As...much as I would want. Halloween Town back in KH, there's...honestly nothing that can convince me that it'll return. At least at this point of the game. That potential was lost for the 4 games it was introduced in. Even if it's Nomura's favorite world, still doubt it'll come back. But in all honesty, the closest time that your nitpick has been answered was in the PS2's Oogie's Revenge game. And again I doubt they'll bring Oogie back a third time solely to do a rerun of his plan to get Santa Claus.

The Disney worlds had much potential, not only for exploration, but for story. In the end we're past the point where they could be realized. Arendelle and Corona showed me that. It's just hard for me to see Halloween Town coming back the same as it's hard for me to see Beast Castle come back. And people solely want it back to fight Gaston.

Oh, H-Town will be back by... KH5. The potential isn't lost, it just hasn't been realized yet. They wouldn't need to bring Santa or Christmas Town back, but of course Oogie can always return to do something evil. He's evil in a sack. He'll be back. Maybe not the next game or two, one of which will probably use Coco instead, but eventually.

I really think Beast's Castle will be back eventually, too. It was a standout world from KH2, and there's a lot more I'm sure they wanted to include: the massive library, the gardens, dining room, the forest and maybe the village. I really wanted the castle to be bigger when I first played it, especially the main hall when you first enter, it's so intimidating in the movie. For nitpick's sake. The live action movie was also a very detailed and beautiful production in terms of the castle's design, so that's not impossible either. Sure there's a longer list nowadays of newer CG Disney movies that are simply inevitable, but they'll still throw a classic or two in there. Fighting Gaston on the roof would indeed be epic, if they decided to write him back into the story.

I think Beast Castle is done. Unless they have it in flashback worlds. I love Beast Castle and the Beast storyline but it concluded. There is a bigger chance for Halloween Town to return then Beast Castle, but even that I don't see returning unless again flashback worlds. Monstropolis basically became the new Halloween Town and with Sully as a party member he became the new Beast. That's two keyholes with one key now. I've said in a thread that Jack Skellington and Beast could become links in the next games.

Still never say never. Maybe they will return one day?

Aside from Deep Jungle and Country of Musketeers probably, I don't think any previously used Disney world can be written off as never to appear again. The story can do whatever it wants in KH (within Disney limits) and worlds are aesthetic opportunities with a lot of room for new interpretations. I personally hope San Fransokyo was a one-off, but everything else, why not? KH3 had two classic worlds return. Returning worlds from KH3 will take priority sure, but anything seems fair game.

I definitely think you're right that Monstropolis will return, but it's an industrial world, or just a normal urban world if they expand beyond the factory. It's different enough! Sora can always use more looks...

I only say Beast Castle is done because he became human at the end of 2. Now they could recurse him. They did the same to Jack Sparrow in KH2 with the pirates curse so if they really want to use him again. To me it would just be kind of a hassle to do that but you never know.

I take it you aren't a San Fransokyo fan, Welken XD

Oh yeah, they could totally recurse him. Of course that's so disrespectful, but stranger things have happened.

To me, SF is kinda the worst. It doesn't make use of the best stuff from the movie, and the Heartless are so sparsely placed (with many of them being stationary). It's a dry space. Maybe if you could fly vertically. Sure they could do a much better job next time, but I just feel like there are better city-set and superhero movies to choose from. The kaiju Heartless boss was the best part, but didn't really relate to the movie at all. It's just something that could fit in a Japanese city setting. It's too bad Disney doesn't have any other Japanese-themed movies. Actually since they don't, KH should totally do an original over-the-top warring states world, with Sora as a ninja.

"He is their thirteenth!" No he's actually their nineth. This nitpick shouldn't bother me as much as it does. Lol I'm running out of KH nitpicks, oh no!

Not really. I know I personally would like a better castle than we got in KH2 to explore, that has Belle's library (and the roofs, like welken pointed out--I never even thought of that). And what about the village, the woods, Gaston & LeFou, Maurice, the wolves, etc.? And then there’s just the fact that it’s a popular film, which alone would be reason enough to want to see it again if you like the movie.

I think most people stopped caring about Gaston once we could no longer use the "Nobody gets excluded from KH like Gaston!" meme following his appearance in KHX.

I would actually like a visit where Adam (that's his name BTW) remains human, if to see more of what he's like after the film.

Hah, who decided that a French prince should be called Adam?

IDK, the only source of that info I'm aware is an obscure mid-90s PC Disney trivia game.

Which must be a pretty lame trivia game if itself is the only source for the answers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The fact that this exists & yet we never get this kind of crossover in KH:

That....honestly looks cooler than I first thought. I mean, I get that there's this...world order thing, but when your home's being threatened, why exclude them out, I MEAN C'MON. FORGET YOU, DISNEY.
