YEAH. Like the one thing we've all been hoping she would be distanced from and the opening just goes ahead and reinforces it. Like...thanks SE? Yet again Kairi is just the love interest with nothing in the opening removing her from that. SO many aspects they could have focused on like her being a Princess of Heart and a Guardian of Light...Her connection to Namine, her past, her future...
This really has to be intentional. There has to be something big going on with Namine or none of this makes sense.
Disney legally requires that Mickey Mouse has to be standing near Riku at all times.
Yeah, so the placements must have at least a small bit of meaning, right?
I liked the music and the video fine (I'll likely love it)...I think my favorite part is
the part where the doors of light appear to the others but the blatant lack of Namine is really pushing it a lot.
And I've personally resigned myself to SoKai. At this point I don't see it going any other way after the opening was like "HEY REMEMBER THIS WAS A THING"
It's sweet how they reinforce the whole "Kairi is Sora's light" thing but Kairi wasn't the one who spent a year fighting to bring Sora back. Namine did. Riku did. Kairi was just the catalyst to Sora's memory restoration being sped up, but damn it Namine and Riku worked hard for a whole year and what do they get in the opening? Not even a hint of their role in that.
And I absolutely dislike that they ignored KH3D in their recap. The most pivotal game in the series that set the stage for all of what is going on in KH3 and they don't even bother reminding people it happened? It doesn't have to be everybody's favorite game but come on.
In a way I am grateful that I've seen the opening. This gives me plenty of time to be mad and frustrated at it so when the game comes out I can be pleased rather than grimacing at my TV screen.
I don't think she'll sacrifice herself. Not in that way...
I'm more expecting her to become some goddess-level character. In Sora's darkest moment, she appears from out of the Darkness holding something precious to him and reminds him of his duty
*coughcough*
